Another PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase is in the books. Around 90 players made the journey to the Champions Center for the event, and there were plenty of notable players to highlight. We will look at the 5v5 teams and discuss what each player brought to the table when I saw them play. There will be a few players I'll highlight later due to number changes and to be sure I know who I took notes on. That said, let's look at some of the players from Team One who impressed this morning and afternoon.

I hadn't seen Miller play before today, but I was more than intrigued by what she could develop into. She's a 5-10 forward with the length that could help her be an impactful defender around the basket. I also thought she did an excellent job running the floor and beating her matchup down the court in transition. There is plenty of room for her to develop, but she'll be interesting to follow over the next four years.

The Kettle Moraine newcomer has the size to stand out when she's on the floor. Kratky is a physical player who can compete around the rim on both ends. I also like how she keeps the ball high when she catches it, preventing smaller players from swiping at it. She is also skilled enough to handle the ball on the perimeter and get downhill against mismatches.

I had seen Gosa play a few times over the summer, and I thought she looked better today than I remember her being, which is awesome. She has a strong frame and can play through contact around the basket. The Notre Dame newcomer also possesses a high basketball IQ and routinely makes the right play with the ball in her hands. We'll see if she earns playing time in year one, but she has the intangibles that we're used to seeing from the Tritons' backcourt.

The Kaukauna native played off the ball and helped her team in small ways. Borchert was setting screens on and off the ball and helping her teammates find space to score. She was selfless in an environment where it is forgiven to hunt your shot instead of working on getting good shots. I also thought she did a solid job of getting her hands on the ball defensively and being a player who can help generate live-ball turnovers to get her team out and running in transition.
