PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase Team 9 Evaluations: Part One

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase is in the books. About 90 players made the trip to the Champions Center, and plenty of notable players stood out. We will look at the 5v5 teams and discuss what each player brought to the table when I saw them play. I'll highlight a few players later because of number changes and to make sure I know who I took notes on. She showed that she could handle the ball under pressure and help get her offense rolling. She is also selfless enough to stay active off the ball and find ways to help her team compete without the ball. She used her size well to carve out space around the basket and buys into being a physical presence. I thought she did an excellent job working in the paint on both ends and finding ways to impact the game around the rim. Darnell was willing to set numerous screens around the perimeter and try to help her guards find space to operate with the ball and get downhill. She has the tools to operate with the ball in and help initiate her team's offense. However, Stauffacher is also a productive floor spacer and can score from beyond the arc if given space. The 5-11 wing is an excellent perimeter shooter who can space the floor at a high level, no matter where she plays in the future. I also liked her athleticism in half-court settings and thought she looked influential on both ends of the court. Her ceiling is as high as anyone's I saw at the Freshman Showcase.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
