Sophomore ID Camp: Team 12 Evaluations

The Sophomore ID Camp in Longwood, FL, fielded over 115 plus athletes from across the state. The Seminole Sports Academy was packed with people wanting to see what the Class of 2029 was going to bring to the table. I had the opportunity to evaluate Team 12, and they had all the intangibles to be one of the best teams in the gym. Here is a closer look at Team 12.    Arlt is a ballhandling guru and a magician with the basketball in her hands. She knows how to stop on a dime and change directions quickly in the open court. Throws precise passes on the dime and can read the pick and roll. A player that puts pressure on the defense with her ability to get downhill and into the paint. Hidden gem that gets better every time she touches the floor.     Cambronne is a player that can play on the perimeter as well as inside. She is always moving with the out the basketball and making sure she gets to the rim. Knows how to post hard to receive the entry passes and knows when to pass out to the perimeter. A player that can score with the baseline drop step or the high post rip. Great mid-range and short corner shot.     Rodgers is a game changer in all aspects. Rebounds well for her size and has mastered the step back pull back move to get her shot off. A player that hustles from whistle to whistle. Has handles that allows her to protect the ball when being pressured. If you push her off the arc, she has the ability to pull up or get to the rim. A player that knows how to create her own shot and has tons of different ways to get her shot off. Next level point guard.     Milton is a player that once she puts her head down, she is going to get to the rim. One of the things that stood out to me was her ability to get to the paint and finish with the spin move. Shoots the 3 ball consistently which makes the defenders have to play her for the shot and the drive. Gets downhill quickly and once she turns you, it's hard to keep her in front of you.     Brand is a player that will do what is needed to help win games. Strong hands and length which allows her to get her hands on the loose balls and create turnovers. A player that gets going from her paint defense. Has the ability to play on the wing or on the block. Knows how to score around the rim.     Henry is a lengthy athletic guard who knows how to use her size on the boards. Has great leaping ability which helps her soar for the rebounds. A player that is always around the rim looking for ways to get the easy put backs and rebounds. Knows how to force the opponent to throw over the top which allows her to get deflections. High motor.     Granados pushes tempo well and knows when to change speed to get by her defenders. Always playing under control even when the defense pressures her. Pushes the ball in transition but knows when to pull it back and when to attack. High IQ guard that hawks the ball on offense and defense.     Frazer is a post player that loves to use her body to absorb the contact and score at the rim. Strong hands and nice footwork on the block which allows her to score over her inside shoulder or with the drop step. Knows how to pinpoint the trajectory of the basketball for the rebound. Workhorse on the boards and creating extra possessions.
