Last week we unveiled updated Prep Girls Hoops South Dakota rankings for the Class of 2028. With that we covered changes to the Top 10 and players who raised their stock since the last update. Now we're looking at the newcomers – 10 players turned prospects that college coaches should be watching in the months ahead. Yesterday we gave you the first five newcomers; today it's time for part 2.

Spaans has already been remarkably productive, surpassing 1,000 career points as a sophomore while routinely putting together double-doubles for Tripp-Delmont/Armour. At 6'1, Kinley has legitimate frontcourt size and the toughness to use it to maximum effect. Spaans establishes position, owns her space and embraces physical matchups, while her commitment to boxing out makes her a high-volume rebounder. Defensively, she protects the paint with sound fundamentals, anticipates well and can challenge shots without fouling. Kinley's offensive game has been growing as she becomes a more consistent perimeter shooter who uses a smooth stroke to get the job done. She has also added to her arsenal around the basket.

Kjerstad enters the rankings as one of the state's more accomplished young facilitators. The 5'9 guard from Wall averaged nearly five assists per game last winter, leading all of Class B in that regard and ranking among South Dakota's premier distributors. Karmyn plays with her eyes up, sees opportunities developing and consistently puts teammates in position to succeed. Kjerstad isn't simply a facilitator, though. She averaged more than 12 points and 5 rebounds per game, shoots the ball with efficiency and has become increasingly capable of creating her own offense off the dribble. Karmyn is getting stronger which has helped her attack the basket more effectively. Her size and length also translate defensively, where she can create turnovers and quickly turn them into offense.

Jung is an intriguing projection because some of her best attributes aren't necessarily basketball-specific. The 5'10 forward from Warner is an exceptional multi-sport athlete and first-team all-state volleyball player whose leaping ability, lateral quickness and motor translate well to the court. Jung plays considerably bigger than her listed height, using her elevation and timing to rebound, block shots and generate deflections. She runs the floor well and can turn transition opportunities into points before defenders catch her. Jaycee's offensive game is a work in progress, although her perimeter range and shooting consistency have improved over time. There is considerable raw material here. If basketball were to become Jung's long-term focus, there's no telling just how good she can be.

Knife is the type of player whose value becomes more apparent the longer you watch. That was certainly the case when we saw her live this summer in Rapid City. Peyton may not immediately command attention, but possession after possession she finds ways to help her team. The 5'10 forward from Maȟpíya Lúta brings strength, physicality and a willingness to handle the less glamorous responsibilities that contribute to winning. Knife rebounds aggressively, protects the paint and uses her size and vertical ability to challenge shots. She has proven on South Dakota's biggest stages that she can deliver when the lights are brightest. Offensively, Knife can score around the basket and has gradually extended her range to the 3-point line. Her combination of toughness, versatility and consistent two-way contribution earns her a place in the top 60.

Mack enters the rankings as a developing guard whose responsibilities continue to increase. The Watertown floor general can operate as a primary ball handler, takes care of the basketball under pressure and generally makes sound decisions with the ball in her hands. Playing against physical competition has helped Mack become more comfortable dealing with contact, although adding strength will be important as she progresses. Offensively, Mack's pull-up game has improved and she is becoming more confident creating opportunities rather than simply initiating the offense. Mack's AAU experience with Sanford has honed her ability to play fast against higher-level opponents who defend with physicality and aggression. She'll have the opportunity to make more progress this winter.

ABOUT THE RANKINGS

The Prep Girls Hoops prospect rankings are based on an individual player's potential at the collegiate level.
