Who Got Next: More Freshmen Standouts from the Expo

She showed good composure offensively and looked especially comfortable operating from the mid-range. She also showed some toughness and was willing to battle inside when needed. She attacked the basket aggressively and showed the physical tools that could make her a difficult matchup as she continues to develop. She has a very good basketball IQ and understands how to affect the game without needing to score all the time. Whether it was making the right pass, defending, rebounding, or simply being in the right position, she consistently made winning plays. She did a good job finding open areas of the floor and staying ready for catch-and-shoot opportunities. She is a good ball handler who displayed good change of direction and always had her head up, looking to make the pass. Ava also showed the ability to shoot and knock down the perimeter jump shot with confidence. She showed strong ball-handling and the ability to create her shot from various spots on the court. I was most impressed by her advanced footwork.
