It could be in coaching, scouting, or enjoying a game for fun; when I see a player who can make a difference by their action, it tends to pique my interest. They may not be the best player or drop 30 points a game. It may be they hit a bucket when their team needed it the most. Made a timely cut to free someone up. My thoughts vary, but watching the game, you can tell something good happened that led to something that made a difference.

When it comes to this game, contributing to your team's success varies from game to game and from program to program. One kid may be a primary scoring threat in school ball; however, her role on her summer club may change. Taking all these findings, developing a profile for a player, and reviewing their full body of work is what makes each prospect fun to cover and helps them stand out.

Take a look at some kids who caught my attention, and I am eager to see what they do this upcoming season.

a solid kid who is gearing up for her last ride. Recently committed to Trevecca, TNU is getting a solid two-way player who can be a difference-maker. She plays good defense, always in a stance, with active hands and feet. In transition, she can push the ball to get paint touches, distribute the rock to open people, and knock down shots. I love her ability to play with poise, hunt good shot attempts, and how she reacts within the flow of the game. Look for her to be a solid piece for this Lady Wildcats team. A squad that has the veteran presence to contend this season in a tough district.

A solid ball player with much to give. Known for her 3-ball, she can knock it down from the arc at a consistent clip with any spacing. I love her ability to put the ball on the floor and finish at the rim. There were times throughout the Expo and during summer ball where she took advantage of a bad closeout and went to go get a bucket. She's one who, when she is on, she is on, which can be scary for an opponent. Look for her to have a solid season and be a contributor one last go-around for her squad.

A kid who is going to help her ballclub for sure. A solid two-way player who has a knack for getting her hands on the ball. During play, she had multiple steals that led to easy transition buckets. I love her ability to get in a stance, keep her opponent in front, and make them work for everything. On offense, she has a nice stroke from the field. Given any kind of space from the arc, the ball will go in. This young lady, who plays with a lot of confidence, will be leaned on more this season to score the rock and compete on the defensive end. Keep tabs on this young lady as she continues to grow.

Hard-working kid who is impactful in all phases of the game.
