The Expo was in the books, and we saw a talented crop of players who headed into Appleton through the fog to play basketball on Sunday. Over the next week or so, we will look at the high school players and highlight what they brought to the floor during the 5v5 portion of the event. We had over 80 players at the Expo, and we will highlight what each did to stand out in their minutes. Let's talk about Team Four.

The Eau Claire native is an excellent perimeter shooter who can knock down shots from the perimeter. Bast also excels at playing at her own pace and letting the game come to her. She makes the simple play every time and rarely makes mistakes with the ball. She isn't flashy, but she helps elevate the lineup she's on the floor with.

The Mayville native is an undersized guard with one of the quickest first steps in the gym. Keith has the speed to beat her initial defender off the dribble and force defenses to rotate to keep her out of the paint. I also thought she did a solid job moving without the ball and keeping her defender's attention off the ball.

The Sheboygan native is a natural scorer who plays at her own pace. Nienhuis can score from all three levels and create off the dribble. She is probably more suited to playing an off-ball role alongside a creative guard, but she's more than comfortable playing against pressure and helping initiate her team's offense. She lets the game come to her and never gets sped up.

The Green Bay area native is a smaller guard who excelled at attacking the basket. Seibel has the skill to get into the paint and find ways to score around the basket. I thought she showed plenty of craftiness and handled herself well around lengthy defenders in the paint. I was also impressed by how poised she was playing through contact.

The Western Wisconsin native is a physical kid who can defend post players. Bergeson is an undersized frontcourt player, but makes up for her size by outworking her matchup everywhere on the floor. She's selfless and will play through contact on both ends and help her team win. I also like how quickly she moves the ball and how well she keeps her team in their flow offensively. She may not be the leading scorer every night, but she will play a role in her team winning games.
