If I had the opportunity to speak with the senior class all across the state, my theme would be “Time and Due Diligence.” During this time in your life, you probably feel a certain type of way if you haven't committed to a school yet. You feel anxious, rushed, mad, upset, you have doubt, you are wondering what in the world is going on. All of those are viable feelings and you have a right to feel that way. However, you can't think negatively and just go into a hole. You must use this feeling to buckle down and work harder.

Case in point, the reason why I said time is, all good things take a minute for fruition. My mother always tells me “Rome wasn't built in a day.” With that being said, coaches sometimes miss the mark and they catch when they circle back on things. Why do you think coaches both high school and travel ball coaches (I'm going to throw trainers and parents in there as well), do everything they can to prepare you for each and every moment. They preach the little things because they want you to make that first impression. A lot goes into recruiting and when it comes to decisions, the only thing you can do is be the best version of you at that moment. Everything else is out of your hands and you just gotta make sure that the version of you that you put out there on the floor was the best you. Ladies, everything takes time so don't get discouraged. I will say this, there is and will be a place for you.

The second thing is to do your due diligence. Sure, a big time school looks great. Has the hype, has all the gear, has this and that, but is it the right fit for you? Does it have your major? Will ou get to play early? Is the coach on the hot seat? I mean these are just three valid questions that should be answered not just pertaining to bigger schools, but schools in general. You have to know that when you do settle on a school of choice, make sure you have a list of questions that can be answered. If they can be, talk it over amongst your family and trusted adults to make sure that this is the place.

Lastly, if it feels right at a place, it's probably the place. Make sure to take your visits. Official/ unofficial, whatever the case may be. Getting to get on campus first hand and experience what life would be like there is what you want to do. Anything and everything looks good in pictures and on the internet, however going there and experiencing something gives you a better perspective of where you want your next home to be. Shoot, if you are a person who likes a warmer climate, there is no reason to go to a school in Michigan. You get my drift.

Ladies, your day is going to come. Stay positive and keep grinding. You have so many people who believe in your talents, but you too have to believe in yourself. No one said life would be easy. You are going to have bumps in the road. Also, everyone's recruitment is different. So don't try to compare. Handle this adversity. Cause once it's all said and done, you will come out fine.

Here are some uncommitted prospects from the 2025 class that will be landing their commitment soon.

She can play spots 1-4. High IQ player who plays with a motor. Whatever needs to be done, it gets done. Look, she can score it on all 3 levels, but what people may not know is that she is probably one of the most solid two-way players in the state. She can score at a consistent clip and then lock down on the defensive end, picking up the full length of the court. She has unbelievable stamina, which she gets from playing soccer as well. In my opinion, this kid is underrated and whatever school she lands at will be getting a gem for sure.

Better late than never. Big time schools are in on this sensational talent. Proof is in the pudding and this kid is another solid two-way player who is just super tough. A multi-level scoring threat who just goes at the opposition consistently. She can do it all, score, rebound, get steals, make assists, ect. The girl has game and she has always stepped up in big time moments. I mean c'mon, three rings in 3 years in high school. Heck, she may get a fourth. Who wouldn't want that on their team. She's a winner and if a school wants that DNA in their program, this is the girl you would want. Another steal for someone looking to help add a quality kid to their program.

Hard working kid who brings it every time she steps onto the floor. A fearless competitor who is an exceptional teammate, this athletic kid is a go-getter. I say athletic because she plays three sports. That right there takes a lot of focus and discipline not to mention you also have to keep your studies up. This kid is a grinder on both ends of the floor. She can put it in the bottom of the net, but too, she will get after it on D. Having someone who is disciplined will ultimately become a great leader. If you want someone who can hoop and have leadership qualities. Take a look at this kid.

Slippery combo guard who is super fun to watch. A 3 level scoring threat who is super tough. I will say this, she does score it at a consistent clip, but she is the most selfless player I know. For instance, she is going to get her team involved. So yeah she may have a shot opportunity, but if her teammate has a better look, that ball is finding her teammate. Leilani is a defensive juggernaut. Active hands and active feet lead to easy transition buckets. She is a hard working individual who also would be a steal for a program at the next level. If you want an exceptional kid who gets it done in the classroom, on the floor, and is a great teammate, this is a kid you need to take a look at.

Probably one of the sleeping giants in the class. No pun intended based on height. I am going to give D credit, she has played behind some solid bigs in the Bartlett program and she has just kept her head down and worked. It hasn't always been easy, but when her time came, she was ready and just went at her opportunity full speed. She is a versatile big who works well in the screen game, around the blocks, displaying nice back to the basket moves. She is a menace on the defensive end, grabbing boards, and sending shots into the crowd. Her recruitment is picking up steam. She is a very confident individual and once a school gets her to commit to you, based on your trust and belief coach, she will run through a wall for you.Tough kid who is going to contribute at the next level.
