This weekend, we'll close out coverage from the Top 250 Showcase last weekend. Today, we're looking at Team Five and highlighting the players I have notes on from the event. On Monday morning, we'll start our 2025 rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1039260' first='Shaye' last='Allen']

A New London product, Allen showed some signs of becoming a pest on the perimeter defensively. The Bulldog had active hands on that end of the floor and generated some turnovers on the ball. Allen had an edge to her game and showed that she wasn't backing down from a challenge on the defensive end. I loved her confidence and how secure she was with who she was as a player. She'll be a pain for opposing Bay Conference guards to play against.

[player_tooltip player_id='1039257' first='Rihanna' last='Barker']

One of the names I picked up at last year's Freshman Showcase was [player_tooltip player_id='1039257' first='Rihanna' last='Barker']. The Kenosha Bradford wing has gotten more physical after spending a year in a varsity strength and conditioning program, and the results are evident. I thought she was the most stout defender at the event, and kids seemed to shy away from attacking her in the paint or off the dribble. The way she plays will continue to lead to wins for the Red Devils. I wouldn't be shocked to hear of scholarship-level programs having some interest in Barker. People may not know much about her outside of the Southeast Conference, but she's a name college coaches should jot down.

[player_tooltip player_id='1039229' first='Awut' last='Alic']

The most talented kid at the event was Oshkosh native [player_tooltip player_id='1039229' first='Awut' last='Alic']. The North Wing showed a little of everything in her arsenal. She knocked down perimeter jumpers, used her length to make plays on the defensive end of the floor, and created some plays off the dribble. Her athleticism also jumped out when Alic went to rebound on both ends of the floor. Few kids had the physical tools to high-point the ball where Alic could, and when she rebounded the ball, it created some opportunities to go out and run in transition. There's still room for her to develop her skill set as the Oshkosh native gains experience playing at the highest level, but Alic's not a kid who's been in grassroots basketball for years now. It's all still relatively new for her, and she's thriving. Alic will be someone that college coaches will fall in love with because of her potential and physical tools. I haven't heard her name mentioned as one of the premier prospects in her class, but she'll generate interest from some of the top programs in the region.
