DII-A District 5 Basketball Predictions: USJ Leads the Pack

Go west! As of right now, if anyone wants to win the state championship in single A, they must go through the Lady Bruins of University School of Jackson. This club will be heavy favorites to run it back. They have one of the best (if not the best) basketball player in the state in Haylen Ayers. They have a balanced attack where they can get it done along the perimeter as well as the painted area. They play tenacious defense that creates turnovers. Like I said, in order to capture the crown, you must first knock off the reigning champs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I will say this, the games will be fun this upcoming season as clubs jockey for position. Programs in this district have gotten better despite USJ being the top dogs in the league. The rivalry amongst these schools are at an all time high, yet you never know who will catch fire and make a run. The schools in Jackson will be fighting tooth and nail for position. Don't count out&nbsp; the county schools. They too will be looking to jump into the fold and see where they are amongst their foes. This will definitely be an interesting year as there is an injection of youth amongst the district. Don't count out the seniors either, but the young pups will surely help make the district spicy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The verdict is still out on who will be the second team in the district. I am already nominating USJ as the favorites due to their fire power. The second place spot is wide open. I will say, I do like what I see out of Jackson Christian Academy and Trinity Christian. Two schools who have shown major improvement and have the athleticism and skill to do something special as well.
