3A vs 4A: CCP @ Del Norte | 5:30 p.m.

[player_tooltip player_id='839429' first='Ryah' last='Carlson'] and the Coyotes meet [player_tooltip player_id='391110' first='Bleona' last='Agushi'] and the Knights.

Agushi is one of the top guards in the 2025 class and is arguably still underrated. The senior point-guard has a deadly handle and is at her best when able to create off the bounce. For her career, Agushi has posted 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Carlson, the Coyotes best perimeter defender, will most likely get the assignment versus Agushi. This past season, Carlson averaged 3.2 steals per game, the second most among the 2027 class. Carlson has active hands and does a good job of not committing silly fouls.

3A Meeting: Tohatchi @ Robertson | 6 p.m.

Features two All-State talents -- [player_tooltip player_id='565810' first='WynterRose' last='Sheka'] and the Cougars meet [player_tooltip player_id='968109' first='Arianna' last='Martinez'] and the Cardinals.

Sheka, a Two-Time All-State Selection, is a lanky forward that does the little things that contribute to winning basketball. Sheka is a selfless player who can score, defend and pass at a high-level. Additionally, Sheka has a great motor and a competitive edge.

Martinez is one of the top players from the 2028 class, having earned an All-State Second Team nod as an 8th grader in 2023-24. Martinez will look to help Robertson (1-0) start the year with back-to-back wins. This past Saturday, the Cardinals defeated the Sandia Prep Sundevils, 56-17.

4A vs 3A: Los Alamos @ St. Michael's | 7 p.m.

[player_tooltip player_id='814504' first='Sofia' last='Trujillo'], [player_tooltip player_id='901134' first='Kohynn' last='Young'] and the Hilltoppers take on [player_tooltip player_id='648215' first='Mariella' last='Ruiz'] and the Horsemen.

Trujillo and Young are two players the Hilltoppes are expected to turn to this season. Trujillo has the ability to space the floor while Young can provide interior play. This past season Trujillo averaged 7.8 points, Young grabbed 3.6 rebounds per game.

As for Ruiz, she is a two-way playmaker and the leader for St. Michael's. In 2023-24, Ruiz established herself as one of the premiere back-court players in 3A. The combo-guard led the 2026 class in assists with a staggering 4.0 per game. On top of that, Ruiz was also in the upperechelon for steals, recording 3.4 per game.

5A Matchup: Los Lunas @ Las Cruces | 7 p.m.

[player_tooltip player_id='642725' first='Tessa' last='Jaramillo'], [player_tooltip player_id='648217' first='Vayda' last='Golino'] and the Tigers travel south to face [player_tooltip player_id='403412' first='Danae' last='Pacheco'], [player_tooltip player_id='814476' first='Bethzy' last='Quinones'] and the Bulldawgs.

Las Cruces, coached by Lori Selby, returns several players from last seasons playoff team. With the aforementioned Pacheco and Quinones leading the charge. The pair combined to average just under 17 points per game to go along with 6.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals this past season.

Head Coach Manny Vigil is hoping for greater success in year two at the helm. That said, The Tigers must get a tough win on the road to start the 2024-25 season. Jaramillo and Golino will be heavily relied upon, but they pair is more than capable of delivering.

4A Matchup: Valencia @ Gallup | 7 p.m.

This Monday night matchup features three All-State talents that are hoping to lead their respective teams to deep playoff runs. [player_tooltip player_id='391108' first='Jadyn' last='Montoya'] and the Jaguars travel north in a clash with [player_tooltip player_id='467051' first='Rylie' last='Whitehair'], [player_tooltip player_id='901165' first='Kayden' last='Tsosie'] and the Bengals.

Montoya serves as the primary option for the Jags' thanks to her prowess as multilevel scrorer. To date, Montoya has posted 14.5 points per game with 121 made three-pointers in 88 games played.

On the flip-side, the Bengals have one of the better tandems with Whitehiar and Tsosie. Two skilled six-footers with an inside-out game. Both are comfortable operating from the mid-range and have the ability to step out and hit the 3ball.

5A Matchup: Eldorado @ Volcano Vista | 7 p.m.

[player_tooltip player_id='839458' first='Liberty' last='Arndt'] and the Eagles will meet [player_tooltip player_id='391323' first='Mila' last='Espinoza'] and the Hawks, in this cross-town meeting.

Espinoza is a savvy senior and no. 1 option for Coach Villareal. The 5'4" combo-guard is a career 10.2 point per game scorer and one of the top three-point shooters from the 2025 class. Espinoza has totaled 122 treys thus far, connecting at a 30 percent clip.

The Eagles will look very different in 2024-25 due to recent graduations and other roster changes. Nevertheless, Eldorado returns several perimeter threats such as Arndt. In 2023-24, Arndt had the second highest three-point percentage among all Eagles players, shooting 29 percent from distance across 30 games.
