Kam Fink is an interesting prospect out of the 2028 Class at this time. Ever since Fink was a freshman, she has been a killer for Highland High School. She has been averaging high numbers in PPG, she has proven that she is a solid distributor, and she continues to crash the boards at an impressive rate for someone who is 5’8 at the Guard position. Last week Fink finished off a game with 24 rebounds in regulation. This is such a high number that I’m not sure we will see it again out of a Guard over the next few years. Usually if you grab over 10 rebounds throughout a contest as a Guard, it’s something to talk about. When you grab 24, it’s something to write about and knowing that Fink also shows up in all the other facets of the game makes it even more impressive.

Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA of Highland High School stepped onto the Varsity floor last Winter and made her mark as their best overall player as a Freshman. This season Fink is returning for her Sophomore season and she is ready to build on what she has put in place in the past. Throughout Fink’s two Varsity games this past weekend, she averaged 15 PPG, 10 RPG, 5 APG, & 5 SPG while leading her team to a 1-1 record overall. If you couldn’t tell, Fink is going to be someone we hear about over the next three years because of her production at Highland. She is going to continuously put up some noteworthy numbers and that should help her team win several games over her high school career.

We saw Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA take the floor early on last season and she posted some staggering numbers on both sides of the floor. Fink, a 5’9 CG, is responsible for most of her team’s production scoring the ball and assisting others but she is also a noteworthy rebounder as well. That might not jump out to most but she is very active on the boards, especially defensively. She likes to rebound and push the ball down the floor in transition at a high rate. Which usually ends in an open attempt in one way or another for her squad. During her Freshman year Fink recorded 253 defensive rebounds. Coming in second only to one other throughout the state, no matter Class or age-level. ( Emma Boswell Emma Boswell 5'11" | SF Nodaway Valley | 2026 State IA – 293) We should see even more production like this over the years from Fink. She will continue to be their leading force so now it’s all about how far she can push things.

5’8, Scoring Guard, respectable handle going either way down the floor, can score in the half court with a set offense or in transition with space, possesses quick side-to-side movement to recover into space in the blink of an eye, with coordinated footwork and balance in whatever she is doing. Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA took the state by storm last Winter during her Freshman year when she averaged over 20 PPG during the first half of their season. Since then, Fink has cooled down a little bit but don’t get it twisted, she is going to put up some eye-opening number over the next three years within her conference. She is head and shoulder better than everyone she will have to face for the most past and that will be obvious before you know it. If it ins’t already.

If we are talking about the definition of a “Stock-Riser”, Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA of Highland High School fit that bill this Winter for her first season with her Huskies program. Fink, a 5’8 CG, does it all for her high school or at least she did this season. She scored at a veteran rate, she got others involved whenever she could, and she showed that she is someone that could compete with some players of a higher skill-level at times. It’s always a big question to see how the individual follows up with things the next season so we will keep an eye out for that but so far, there is a lot to like here.

Freshman Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA has led the Highland Huskies the entire season, and nothing has changed thus far through two games of post season play. The combo guard has put up 25 and 16 points respectively to help push the Huskies to a regional semifinal matchup vs. Springville on Friday. Fink also pulled in 13 boards in regional play, which is not surprising given she averages 14.3 boards per contest this season. If Highland is going to make a run at state and take down Springville, the Huskies are going to need Fink to continue her hot streak and put up another big performance.

Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA jumped onto the high school basketball scene at the start of the season with her big numbers and impactful play at the varsity level for her Highland Huskies program. Since then, Fink has seemingly kept things going, making big differences for her team each night they compete. Last night Highland got a big first round victory, 48-29 over Wapello. Fink accounted for 25 of her teams 48 points, almost outscoring the opposing team by herself when the final buzzer sounded. Fink is a swift player, that understands how to break down her matchup. If this group wants to keep winning, this is someone that has to keep producing. I think it’s also important to note that out of their teams 48 total points scored in this one, three of their players accounted for 47 of those 48. If they want to make a deep run these next few weeks, others will have to step up as well.

Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA took the state by storm early on in the Winter with her scoring outbursts and incredible numbers to kick things off. Since then, Fink is still putting on a display with her Huskies program as she is averaging 15.5 PPG, 15.2 RPG, along with just over 3 APG to help lead her team to an overall 14-6 record, 10-5 within conference. For being a freshman on the varsity floor, these are some solid numbers, that no one can really debate. Highland might not play the toughest schedule but you still have to show up each game and that’s what Fink has done all season long.

Kamryn Fink Kamryn Fink 5'8" | SG/CG Highland | 2028 State IA has come on as the most impressive 2028 so far by my standards. Fink competes for Highland High School and throughout her team’s two games, she is averaging over 22 PPG. It’s also important to note that she is scoring this much, while shooing a high percentage from all over the floor and she is putting up positive numbers in other statistic categories as well. As the season presses on, we will really start to get a real grasp of what Fink can do. So far she looks like a compete guard, that has just been better than everyone else she has had to face off against so far. If that continues to be the case all Winter long, it’s going to be interesting to see where she can take things.
