Top Performances Before District Play: Games Worth Watching

This week is heating up to be a good one. Some teams across the state were in action last night. As teams get some last minute matchups before they start district play (some schools already have done so), teams went toe to toe to help build confidence and swing the momentum in their favor. It is always important to come into district play on a high. No matter the district, games are always tough. It's a rivalry amongst all, yet some have the best of others, but there is no love lost. So going into district play feeling good about your team, their identity, the direction of the program, and health are all a must prior to going at it with teams you see twice a year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Monday saw clubs get after it once again. Like I mentioned before, not all teams were playing, however there were some notable clubs in action that also created a platform for some young ladies to hit the hardwood running. The net was definitely moving as teams put up some big numbers throughout the state. I know, you probably are saying “well, where's the defense?” True, but at the same time we have some young ladies who can just flat out get buckets no matter who they face. She dominated the opposition, using her size and quickness to score buckets. She owned the paint, opposing her will against the smaller defenders. This talented kid was having a monstrous game of not only scoring but playing big time on the defensive end as well. Grabbing boards, leading transitional breaks, this kid is primed and ready for district play for sure. Look for her to continue to get better and see her stock rise amongst others. She scored 23 of her 28 points during the last 16 minutes of the game. Getting it done from all three levels, she helped lead the Lady Eaglettes in their victory. She was money from deep, hitting five 3s from the arc. This talented kid came up clutch for the blue and gold. Finishing the game with 12 points, 6 rebs, 1 steal, and 1 block, Adit was a beast for her ball club as she anchored the low side of the court. This talented kid is a special one that is finding her identity. Skillful, strong, and a heady ball player, she is carving out a solid role with her team and taking advantage of the court time she has earned. This kid was feeling it as she came up clutch from multiple spots on the floor. Her confidence was there and every time she touched the ball, you knew something good was about to happen. Gracie, a talented junior who finished the game with19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, was big time for the Lady Bees ball club. Though it was a team win that took care of a talented Grace Christian Academy -Knoxville team, Gracie led all effort in her amazing style of play.
