Meet the Young Stars of McKenzie Lady Rebels

This made me think, the McKenzie Lady Rebels always seem to rise against their opponents. They don't dodge the smoke. They are willing to compete against whoever, whenever, no matter the classification. You pick the setting, they will show up and show out, displaying a superb talented skillset.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Even though last year they did not make it to the Elite 8, the two previous years these ladies were state champs. They know how to win. Gritty ball players who get after it and will do anything to win a ball game (within reason I might add). They lay it all out on the line, sacrificing personal opportunities and their bodies. This season, they have seven freshmen that will be suiting up for the Lady Rebels. Quality senior leadership ( kids who have won it a time or two), this club might be young but they will be ready to come out and compete. Led by Coach Emerson, the Lady Rebels will bring tenacious defense into play, while allowing their creative offensive sets to give them open looks. This team is hungry to return to the Boro. With some hard work, quick learning on the job (they have a young team), they are poised to get back to a place they grew familiar with.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Check out some young ladies who will be suiting up for the McKenzie Lady Rebels this season At the time of this writing, they are sitting 2-4 overall. However, as I mentioned earlier, this team is young and expect a slight learning curve. She is a complete player, where she can do multiple things really well. For starters, she can score the rock at a high clip. From downtown, from the mid-range, from around the rim, the ball is going to go through the hoop one way or another. She makes timely assists. Contributes on the boards. Most importantly, she plays stifling defense. Has earned a double-double a couple of times already early on in her career. Look fo herr to continue on this upwards trajectory and make a name for herself as one of the kids in her class. Sophie has been clutch for her ball club and she looks to bring her valuable senior leadership into the fold and help mentor some of the youngsters. An all around great teammate, she plays hard on both ends of the floor. She is an example of what a McKenzie Lady Rebel should be, giving it her heart and soul on each and every possession. She doesn't take plays off and is always looking for ways to contribute to her ball club. Look for her to have a stellar senior season and help McKenzie reach state contention. Solid in the low post areas and mid-range, she's developing an outside jumper, but within the arc she thrives. She's physical, knows how to use her body to gain favorable positions and deters shots. Her game is growing and look for her to play some valuable minutes for this club.
