Jade is the defending league player of the year, and as a senior, she is not ready to see her season come to an end. I first got to see her at the Toledo top 64 last fall, and let me tell you she’s a physical strong guard who can play through contact, and is not intimidated by the taller players. She does have a couple of offers on the table, but right now she’s focused on the district finals tomorrow.

Latson is just a flat out interior beast! She uses her large frame to carve out position in the paint scoring with either hand around the basket. Latson is the senior leader that drives the Toledo Start Spartans and without her they wouldn’t be having such a successful 2025-26 season! She led her team with a strong 18 points in the win versus Medina and was active as well on the glass with six boards. Latson also controlled the paint sending three shots back and ripping away three steals in the win! There is a reason why she already holds a number of college offers as they are well earned!

Latson is a very physically imposing forward who plays with a great deal of intensity on both ends of the floor! Her motor never stops as she looks to take on and guard the other team’s best player. She is an elite shot blocker and tenacious post defender who doesn’t let anything go past her easily. Her activity in the gaps make it very difficult for the opposition to pass the ball around as she is very capable of forcing steals and converting at the other end. Latson also is a standout offensively with her footwork and shooting skills when she goes to convert around the basket. Very little can stop her from converting in transition when she has made up her mind to score!

Very productive in the midrange, and effective in the paint. She has a great frame and can play a physical style if needed. Reads and reacts well, she also has a good wingspan and runs the floor efficiently. Can swat anything.

She’s very strong with and without the ball and does a great job at defending her personal space. Jade is a powerful player that can rebound and has several useful tools at her disposal to help her side win. Able to score near the rim and blast down the floor, demonstrates patience with the ball and she attacks the gaps, splits her defenders and scores at the rim. With her long arms she’s deadly on the boards. Also making her way onto the watchlist.
