Anna Timmons from Assumption High School is the type that could compete at the college level. She possesses size, athletic ability, knowledge of the game for the Forward position, and she can spread the floor as a three level scoring threat. Half of Timmons attempts last season came from behind the three point line. She took 192 total shots. Of the 192 shots, she finished 42/100 from deep. That’s solid from a percentage standpoint. Most of these attempts came off of the catch but she wasn’t afraid to step up to hit a three with a dribble or two to get settled either. It all depends on how the defense decides to defend her. Their team went 14-9 as a whole and this Winter they are going to add to their returning lineup with a talented Freshman or two so they will have a chance to do even better this time around if Timmons returns with confidence.

The player that stood out last night right away was Anna Timmons Anna Timmons 6'0" | SF Assumption | 2027 IA of Assumption because of her mixture of size, athletic ability, and coordination. Timmons is still putting things together as an overall competitor but she makes some really sound plays when her team needs a bucket. She is versatile enough to play inside-to-outside on the offensive end and she can switch on the defensive end between guarding several different positions. (Basically the 2-5 at this point.) With Timmons’ natural height and the way that she can move down the court, it’s not crazy to think that this is someone who will finish out their high school career and compete at the college level at some form. When her team needed something to happen yesterday, this is who they looked to at the Forward position and she didn’t disappoint, even though her team fell short in the end.

Assumption High School handled their business on Tuesday, beating North Scott by 18 points when the last buzzer sounded. Throughout this game there was a lot of back and fourth action from both parties. Assumption eventually ended up pulling away and a big part of that was because of the play of 5’11 SF – Anna Timmons Anna Timmons 6'0" | SF Assumption | 2027 IA . Timmons led all scores with 17 on 50% shooting. This was an overall great game by Assumption and Timmons. This isn’t anything knew thought. They have a had a few contest this Winter in which they took care of what they needed to, resulting in a win. I’m not sure where this group takes things from here but if they stay engaged, they could end up stringing together some more W’s.
