As long as Aubrey Danler can tighten up her decision making as she steps onto the Varsity floor in six months, she should be able to see an ample amount of court time with their current roster in hand. Danler is another length prospect that can shoot and pass the ball at a higher rate than most. She really likes letting shots go from deep off a step back but she can also get closer to the hoop for other attempts when determined. With her reach she can switch on defense pretty effortlessly between positions and that helps her stick on the floor when others are getting pulled off. I have a feeling during this Winter it’s going to be Danler’s team in a sense so she should have a chance to show what she can do early on in the year as long as everything goes according to plan.

Danler controls the game with a calm, steady presence. Nothing feels rushed with her. She stays composed through pressure, doesn’t react to double teams, and continues to make the right reads. The handle is advanced, allowing her to create space when she wants to attack or shift the defense to open up a play. She plays with a strong amount of confidence, and the upside is clearly there.

I received multiple comments on the day that

is going to be special when she gets to Assumption High School next Winter and I happen to agree. Danler has the ability to be a D1 prospect at the end of the day. She has good size for her age right now at 5’9, she has a great feel for the game, and she understands what she does best as a hooper. She will need to add to her game in some aspects, just like everyone at a young age but the core is there for Danler. She just needs to stay motivated as she gets older and everything else should fall in to place to follow.

is a middle schooler by the way she carried herself at The Expo. The skilled point guard created space in a number of ways, standing out in particular with her smooth step-back. Danler has a confident stroke and left defenders in the dust a number of times today while draining long shots. Her skill with the ball doesn’t stop there, though. Danler excelled at blowing by defenders with at the top of the key off of the catch and also with her convincing hesitation dribble. I’m predicting big things to come from this young gun!

is going to be someone that many throughout the state of Iowa learn about later on but that won’t stop her from standing out over the next few days. If I didn’t tell you that Danler was a younger prospect, you’d never be able to tell solely based on her play-style and production. This is a player with great size for her age, a consistent scoring ability offensively, while being a smart defender in every definition of the phrase. Assumption High School is going to make some waves over the next few years and when they do, I’m sure that Danler will have a part in it and that all starts this weekend.

. Danler has great size and skill for her PG position. She looks taller/lengthier than 5’9 and she has the skill to pair along with it. She is crafty off the dribble with a sweet hesi-move and she also can create for those around her at a high rate. There were times during this event where it seems like Danler was going around everyone, as if they were just cones sitting there in-front of her. She also stepped up defensively a number of times, showing her worth on that side of the floor. All in all, this is one to know out of the 2030 Class moving forward. When her Classes rankings come up next year, she is sure to be in the Top 10 conversation for her Class around the state of Iowa.
