Week 8 Under the Radar Players to watch for

This week we will see quite a few key match-ups around the state. Starting off on Tuesday, January 28th, the lineup of games gives a look at some of the favorite under the radar players. In the north, a clash between sharp shooter [player_tooltip player_id='789192' first='Courtlyn' last='Yaussi'] of Loveland High School and the 19th ranked Windsor High School will be a great rivalry game. Some city matchups, like Vista PEAK Prep School featuring the speedy senior, [player_tooltip player_id='361566' first='Eianna' last='Jackson'] taking on Rangeview, and Skyview versus Thornton are bound to produce exciting games full of high volume scoring. Check out some of the players to watch on Tuesday in this article.    Calling this lefty sophomore a great shooter is an understatement. Yaussi is a bucket from anywhere inside the court lines. Logo three pointers come easy to this point guard, but she can also put it on the ground and get messy in the paint. Courtlyn has great court vision, with the ability to push the ball in transition for easy scores, but also run offensive sets to keep her team organized. On the defensive end, Courtlyn is aggressive and confident, whether guarding on the wing or helping in the paint. A true point guard, Yaussi is always leading her team through her communication, positive attiutude and a gas tank that never gets empty. Put Loveland's [player_tooltip player_id='789192' first='Courtlyn' last='Yaussi'] on your watchlist this week.     One word comes to mind when thinking of point guard [player_tooltip player_id='361566' first='Eianna' last='Jackson'], Speed. She is crazy fast in the open court, with the handles that keep right up and the strength to finish at the rim. Jackson is also super quick in the half court, slashing through defenses to open spots and finding open teammates. Her shot from mid-range and three are very reliable, making her the complete offensive threat. Opposing teams don't even stand a chance with Eianna on defense. She is part of every trap and seems to have her hands on every steal. This senior leader for Vista PEAK is nothing short of exciting.     Put Estrada on your watchlist because this guard is fun to watch. This senior leader is a part of every play for Skyview. On offense she's a sharp shooter, finding her spots in the half court with ease and connecting from mid-range or behand the arch. In both the open and the half court, Leila is an expert at finding her teammates in great positions to score, averaging over 4 assists per game. Defensively Estrada gives up nothing. She is tough against defenders with the ball and closing out to shooters on the wing. And she is definitely not afraid to battle in the paint with the post players for steals and rebounds. Behind Estrada, Skyview can be a force in any matchup.     Lucero is a the perfect combo guard. She has handles in the open court to help her team break presses or run important offensive sets. Her mid-range points are crucial to Mountain Range's success. Her game winners from behind the arch are all across social media proving her range. On the defensive end Delilah is a nice size to close out on wings and play in the paint always giving her squad the confidence of her leadership . This guard will definitely continue to make her mark this week against rival Westminster.     This under the radar sophomore can truly play any position on the court, but finds the most comfort on the wing and in the paint where she can use her size to push around smaller defenders for easy buckets and offensive rebounds. Smith isn't just a big body, her handles are guard-like, controlling the ball in the open court when needed. She can also shoot from the outside like a guard, making her an offensive threat from two points or three. Nyree uses the same versatility on defense with the ability to move and guard on the wing, and also to get strong in the post. This sophomore is poised to help Skyview make surprise teams in the second half of the season.
