Open Division Semifinal: Desert Vista/Millennium

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On<strong> March 4^th</strong> the Girls Open Division semifinals were played at <strong>Mountain Pointe</strong> high school. In the second game it was #14 <strong>Desert Vista </strong>taking on #2 <strong>Millennium</strong>. The first quarter saw both teams trading baskets. A big second quarter gave <strong>Millennium</strong> a 33-19 halftime lead. <strong>Desert Vista</strong> returned the favor by chipping away at the lead during the second half. They took their first lead with 58 seconds remaining in regulation.<strong> Millennium</strong> was able to tie it up and send the game to overtime tied at 45. Despite always being the focal point of the opposing defense, she still finds a way to get into the paint with crafty ball handling and incredible body control. She even showed that she can step out and play on the perimeter by hitting both of her three point shot attempts. She played a very good solid all around game. She shot the ball very efficiently and cleaned up on the boards. She finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds. You saw flashes of her creativity in the open court.
