Expert Analysis
Marissa Rimbert | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A long, rangy 6-footer who can play inside-out and stretch the floor as a shooter. She understands spacing and does a great job keeping the ball moving, consistently helping with reversals to keep the offense flowing. Her size allows her to see over the defense and deliver strong cross-court passes, keeping teammates involved. Comfortable handling and bringing the ball up, she stays poised under pressure, using subtle changes in pace and direction to shake the defense off.

Johnson is also “long and athletic” and just a shade under “the magic number” but watching her intensity off the top in the 3 on 3 at the PGH Freshman Showcase and had me smiling as she went AFTA everything off the rim as well as on the floor. In fact, I dropped the #THROWBACK hashtag on her because I love things you can’t teach, and those things, plus playing the passing lane fall into my DESIRE category. She continued to separate herself during games as @playerrimidies dropped something as well see evaluations here

Johnson is going to be a problem! In the 5v5 action, opposing teams did not have an answer for her. A big guard with length, she uses her size effectively on both ends of the floor. Confident in the midrange, she can score over defenders, and she’s just as dangerous pushing the ball coast to coast in transition. Her ability to rebound, initiate, and finish makes her a versatile threat.

Johnson is “long and athletic,” and guess what impressed me off the top, her diving on the floor for loose balls, in THREE ON THREE, #THROWBACK. Her “on the ball” pressure was smothering as she picked some pockets, she played the passing lane and saw the floor, plus her first step to attack and score, nice body control on her finishes, were also solid
