‘s all-around game played a big role in Bartlett High School making the state tournament this season.
Bailey is a type of player all coaches want on their team. Whether her shot is falling or not, she always finds a way to have a positive impact on the game.
Bailey, as a player, has a lethal perimeter shot, is an above-average rebounder at the guard position, and an above-average playmaker. Bailey is an extremely unselfish player and just does whatever is needed to give her team the best chance to win.
A game this season that highlighted Bailey’s vast skill set was a game against Arlington High School. In the contest, she had seven points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

The Floor General. As the junior point guard goes, so does Bartlett. She is the anchor to this squad. She leads the team in assists with 3.8. However, she is not only a distributing point guard. She can score. She can’t be left open behind the 3 and loves to use her body at the basket for a bucket. She is 4th in scoring with 7.3 points per game. She is also a tough defender and leads the team in steals with 2.2 per game. After playing in an Atlanta tournament early in the season, she picked up her first division 1 offer from Old Dominion.

Just what the doctor ordered. This junior PG was named player of the year in her district. An athletic ballplayer who is a weapon anytime she is on the floor, spearheads a lethal Bartlett attack. Playing stingy defense, executing offensively, she and her club look to make a state run and showcase to everyone why they are one of the premier programs in the state. The Lady Panthers are playing with confidence, and AB is leading the charge. Look for them to be a team to be reckoned with throughout the tournament.

When I was at Southern Miss, I knew before I presented a point guard to Coach McNelis the first question she would ask “ Can she knock down the 3?” From my stats, Aaliyah knocked down 4 straight 3s. As the floor general, she keeps the offensive continuity going. However, that doesn’t mean she can’t put the ball in the basket sometimes.

The Floor General. She initiates the offense and even some of the defensive pressure. Anniya finished the first quarter with 2 steals and converted all four of her shots at the basket. Even a break away layup was not safe from Anniya. She hustled down the floor and blocked a transition layup to prevent the bucket. I only have her missing 1 shot tonight.

Floor General. Anniya is the anchor for Bartlett offensively as the PG and defensively. Offensively, she has great vision for getting the ball up the floor quickly to players running the lanes. She sees players and opportunities that you would not think is there. She is not very tall, about 5’6. Yet, she stays super composed while being harassed and doubled teamed. Defensively, she is tough and matches the quickness of opposing guards.

Composed Point Guard. Before she entered the game, the team was struggling with cohesiveness. This can be expected when you have a team put together from different schools. However, her entering the game provided a level of experience that they needed. She is very patient with the ball. She uses her body very well on the defensive end to body and bully. Plus she doesn’t mind initiating contact when she is finishing at the basket. She has an efficient 3 point shot. Not only did she initiate a run for her team. She made the game winning assist.
