Under the Radar Prospects at the Florida Brawl

In this article, we look at some of the prospects at the Florida Brawl who caught our eye. Some of these players play in rural areas and don't get the benefit of every day exposure. Other players are under the radar for other reasons. These players had noteworthy performances at the Florida Brawl.      [player_tooltip player_id='873449' first='Jahlaya' last='Wilson'] ,made her presence felt at the Florida Brawl. She went toe to toe with Chandler and Parker and didn't back down. Wilson was very impressive on the defensive, blocking her share of shot attempts and also securing rebounds on both ends of the court. Wilson was able to score against Southeast's top two defenders a few times and that's a true indication of her potential on the offensive end. Wilson also played with a lot of intensity and raised the play of her teammates.     [player_tooltip player_id='514624' first='Miranda' last='Campos'] had some good moments at the Florida Brawl. Campos is athletic and is can contribute in all phases of the game. She rebounded well, played solid defense and had some impressive offensive plays around the rim. Campos's specialty is scoring off of the offensive rebound. She also runs the floor well and can finish at the rim off of the catch.     Lauren Walker played well at the Florida Brawl. She played strong on the blocks and was effective at getting to the rim. Walker is athletic, has good footwork, and she is agile. On Saturday, Walker also showed an ability to attack the rim when facing the basket and showed some nice footwork when playing on t the blocks with her back to the basket.       [player_tooltip player_id='514545' first='Mariah' last='Young'] played well and really has developed into a leader at the point guard position. Young can give a team a spark in the scoring department, but is at her best when distributing and being a play maker. Young had several nice plays over the weekend. She showed the ability to drive the lane, draw the defense, and then pass it to an open teammate for the jump shot.     [player_tooltip player_id='1249891' first='Rihanna' last='Battle'] knows how to put the ball in the basket and it was apparent at the Florida Brawl. Battle showcased some good ball skills and knew how to knife her way to the basket. She made some passes plays to her teammate, hilighting her unselfish nature and ability to pass the rock. Battle is not the tallest, but her understanding of scoring the ball is impressive. Battle averaged 14 points per game last high school season. She will be a player to watch throughout this travel season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1003868' first='Israel' last='Hart'] played very well and showcased a nice mid-range shot that was "money" all day. Hart has a really good feel for the game and makes the correct play which speaks to her basketball IQ on the floor. Defensively, she played very well on the ball and played well in the passing lanes. She had a knack for making big plays on both ends of the floor.     [player_tooltip player_id='819896' first='Ashantii' last='Williams'] showed some good things on the floor at the Florida Brawl and she will be a player to watch throughout this travel season. Williams has great height and a versatile game on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she can score from all three levels and has great speed to excel in the transition game. She had one baseline midrange that really stood out. She grabbed a rebound took a dribble and calmly knocked down the shot. Williams will be a focal point for her team next season and will be looked upon to score. She has the tools to get it done.
