Vanessa showed her shooters touch throughout the day and one of her best finishes happened when she drove hard into the paint, pivoted to get the scoring angle, and dropped in a floater off two feet straight through the net. Vanessa swished a three pointer up top, used a great step-through to score in traffic with her left, and converted tough, reach around layup by putting a ton of English on the ball. Vanessa was aggressive on defense and had a great all-around day at the PGH Michigan State Showcase.

Vanessa is having a big spring for Michigan Premier 2029 Select. She’s crafty with the ball in her hands, has an accurate three-point shot, drives hard to the rim, and finishes well with either hand. Vanessa works hard to contain ball-handlers on the defense, doesn’t shy away from contact, and she’ll be a dynamic guard to watch at the Michigan State Showcase.

Vanessa was dialed in at Michigan Premier practice. She’s a compact guard who can handle the ball and punish defenses with her perimeter shooting. Vanessa drained mid-range jumpers and ripped the nets with her three-point accuracy. She swished threes from the wing, corner, and up top. Vanessa swiped the ball away to score a layup with her left off two feet, converted a smooth reverse off a backdoor cut, and drove hard to the basket for another layup with her left. Vanessa maintained excellent defensive positioning against a screen and roll to deflect the entry pass and threw passes to teammates with good touch.

Vanessa, competing with Team Sparks at the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase, brought a well-rounded and disruptive presence at the guard position. During 3v3 play, she created space with a sharp spin move and finished strong at the rim to convert the basket. In 5v5 action, she handled the ball with confidence and showed range by knocking down shots from beyond the arc. Defensively, Vanessa really made her mark—applying consistent pressure on the ball, jumping passing lanes, and turning defense into offense with multiple steals. On one possession, she came up with a steal and immediately pushed ahead to deliver a well-timed pass for a teammate’s score, and on another, she secured a steal and took it coast to coast for a finish herself. Her combination of energy, defensive instincts, and playmaking ability made her a constant impact player throughout.

Vanessa is the next promising guard prospect coming through the ranks at Kingston. She competes hard on both ends of the floor, rebounds, creates space off the dribble, and shoots confidently from beyond the arc. Vanessa converted a tough contested layup, drilled a wing three with a hand in her face, and dropped in a floater off a penetrating dribble drive. She poured in seven points for the Cardinals and will be a cornerstone member of their backcourt moving forward.

Vanessa is a scrappy, hard-nosed guard who makes the hustle plays and puts the ball in the hoop. She switches hands confidently to create space from defenders and rips the nets with textbook shooting mechanics. Vanessa distributes accurate passes to open teammates and works hard on the defensive end. She poured in 23 points for the Cardinals against Laker and is a great addition to the Kingston backcourt.

Vanessa brought grit and toughness to Team Wings, standing out with her relentless energy and scrappy play. She consistently attacked her defender off the baseline, showing great body control and awareness as she delivered sharp one-handed passes to open teammates. Her ability to create opportunities through hustle and smart decision-making made her a key playmaker throughout the day.

Vanessa is a guard who can facilitate, shoot, and make all the effort plays. She’s a poised ball-handler with a balanced shot that makes her a threat from three-point range. Vanessa chases down rebounds and loose balls. She has a few showcases under her belt and I’m excited to see her compete at the Headliners Invitational.

Vanessa gave Team 8 a spark at the Freshman Showcase and made the hustle play of the day. She came sprinting towards the baseline chasing after a loose ball, leaped out of bounds, and sent my glasses and hat flying in the process! Gotta love that kind of effort! She used a quick rip move to get by a defender and dumped the ball to a teammate for the assist. Vanessa closed out hard to force a missed shot and pressured opposing ball-handlers in the back court. She pursued rebounds on both ends and shot the ball with confidence, draining a perimeter jumper. Kingston is adding a skilled ball-handler to their backcourt, and she’s going to make an immediate impact this winter.

Vanessa is a guard I was eager to see for the first time at SkillCase, and I believe she’s going to be a difference maker right away for Kingston this winter. Vanessa was singled out by her coaches, former college players, as a girl who impressed them. Her determined effort throughout the day and focus during drills was a separator–her full court pushout dribbles were among the best. Vanessa has solid fundamentals and she had no problem penetrating gaps with her dribble. Vanessa attacked downhill to score a layup and absorbed contact to finish another tough layup off the dribble. She grabbed rebounds, worked hard on defense, and made good passes to teammates. Vanessa is a prospect I’m excited to watch again at the Freshman Showcase.
