Defense, defense, defense. Cortney Bills Cortney Bills 5'10" | SF/SG Arlington | 4A TN is an elite defender already, and it will be exciting to see just how good she can get in her high school hoops career.
Last season, at Bartlett High School, Bills caused havoc in many games for opposing offenses. Bills, especially, is good as a backline/interior defender. From there, she can pick off passing lanes well. In one game against Harding Academy, she had six steals.
Bills also moves extremely well laterally, helping her get blocks, and is a good defender in post-up situations. In a game against Arlington High School, she had four blocks. Bills is also one of the better rebounders on the court when she plays.

Versatile Guard/Forward. I first saw Courtney during the Fall League season. Arlington travelled to Harding Academy for a game and that gave me my first opportunity to see her play with her high school team. She started the game against Harding. She is a very active player that hustles and rebounds out of area. She does a good job of using her length to deflect passes and get steals. Her versatility allows her to defend in the paint and on the perimeter. She can score with her back to the basket with a turn around pull up and off the dribble. After 6 games, she is averaging 8.8 points and lead in rebounding with 8.2.

Versatile Guard/Forward. Courtney was a freshman I did see during the Fall League season. Arlington travelled to Harding Academy for a game. So that was a perfect opportunity to not only see a couple of juniors but also do a check in on the freshman. From what I saw, she seems to be adjusting pretty well to the high school game. My unofficial stats on her were 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals against Harding. She is a very active player that hustles after loose balls. She rebounds out of area. Her length is used in the front of the press. She does a good job of using her length to deflect passes into the post and, along with her anticipation skills, to get steals. Her versatility allows her to defend in the paint and on the perimeter. She can score with her back to the basket with a turn around pull up. She can score off the dribble. Over the last 4 games, Courtney is averaging 8.3 points and 5 rebounds.

Active Small Forward. She stayed at the free throw line because she was constantly around the ball. Alot of her work was done rebounding. She does a good job of following the ball to get rebounds and stick backs. Everything wasn’t on the block. She attacked for a reverse layup and hit a pull up jumper.
