ELV8 Super 32 Senior Showcase under the radar Standouts

The ELV8 Senior Showcase was loaded with the State's top talent from all over Arizona. This was an opportunity for several players to get noticed by the many local colleges that were in attendance. It was also an opportunity to showcase their talent against high level elite players. Here are a few of the under radar standouts from the Showcase.    [player_tooltip player_id='1140910' first='Monica' last='Verrett'] is one of the most intriguing prospects in Arizona. She is an incredible athlete as she is a multi-state placer in the Long Jump. She is a lightning quick point guard that can beat most guards down the floor with the ball and create opportunities in fast break situations. She is a very good shooter and passer. She has a high basketball IQ and she is a leader on the floor. Her specialty is defense, as she is the Region Defensive Player of the Year. She can shut down point guards and create several turnovers because of her speed and quickness. Look for Monica's stock to rise as Amphi could have one of their best seasons in several years in 2025/26.     Jylee Boyce was outstanding during the Showcase, making the Final 16 Game. She is a high energy player that can excel on both offense and defense. She was outstanding during the Skills Session, showing excellent ball handling skills as well as shooting skills. She also turned in an outstanding performance during the Showcase Games. She played within the framework of her team, finding her opportunities to score when they were there, and creating scoring opportunities for her team on defense and in transition. Jaylee will play on the next level. She is a leader and she is a team player. College coaches were excited about what they saw from her at the Showcase.     [player_tooltip player_id='1140908' first='Jaylene' last='Encinas'] was outstanding all day at the Showcase. She was outstanding during the Skills Session, as she was one of the best ball handlers of the entire group. She showed quickness and agility and also displayed a nice shooting touch. She had a confidence about her that allowed her to compete at a high level on the big stage. She is a very good defender that can defend point guards in the open floor and in half court sets. Jaylene can play on the next level and this upcoming season will be huge for her future outlook.     Avi Damon Showalter is another interesting prospect that is just now coming into her own. Playing at powerhouse Xavier Prep, Damon-Showalter has been biding her time waiting for her opportunity. That will no doubt come this year as Avi has really raised her level of play. She is a very good shooter from all 3 levels, and she is dangerous on the drive from the baseline. She is a good defender that has a high motor and high basketball IQ. She has the ability to play on the next level, and this season will be a big year for her. She had a terrific showing at the Showcase, displaying excellent ball handling skills and shooting ability.     Jocelyn Ortega had a nice showing at the Showcase, capitalizing on the opportunity to play against some of the best talent in Arizona. She showed she can hit the 3 even with a defender in her face. She did a nice job in the Skills Session and she showed she can get up and down the floor on both offense and defense, and she can defend multiple positions. She really raised her stock at this Showcase and caught the eye of some local college scouts.
