December Rankings Update: 2027's Who Could Move

We've taken a close look at several players who've had standout performances through the summer and fall — players who've clearly elevated their game and are ready to climb the rankings. Some are knocking on the door of the top 20, a few are making a push toward the top 10, and others are earning their first spot on the board altogether. Here's our early preview of who's trending up and why.    Morgan has taken major strides this off-season, and with the bigger role she's set to take on at American Fork, that growth could skyrocket. Playing up with the older age group over the summer sharpened her game and boosted her confidence, allowing her basketball IQ to really stand out. She's reading the floor better, making smarter decisions, and showing signs of becoming a true leader for her team this season.     Olivia's athleticism has flown under the radar so far, but it won't stay that way for long. She's long, quick, and versatile — the kind of player who can guard every position on the floor, from the point to the post. Her defensive range and agility make her a matchup problem for opponents, and as her offensive game continues to round out, her impact will only grow. If she keeps developing at this pace, Olivia could emerge as one of the top prospects in Utah's 2027 class — a legitimate Division I target, or at the very least, a key D1–D2 prospect. The next couple of seasons will be her time to prove it, refining her consistency and expanding her all-around game.     Jalise is a fresh face on the Utah basketball scene, and the rankings will get their first real look at her this season. As just a sophomore, she earned PGH First Team honors in Washington — a strong indication of her talent. Her wingspan gives her a defensive edge well beyond her height, and she's a quick, agile guard who will be a key factor for American Fork right out of the gate. Her upcoming matchup against Pleasant Grove will be a great first glimpse at where she stacks up among Utah's top talent.     Rihanna has continued to develop her game — and her frame — over the past couple of years, adding valuable height to her skill set. Currently sitting near the bottom of the top 25, she's the kind of player who always seems to be in the right place when the ball is loose or a play breaks down. That instinct to stay active and involved makes her a constant factor on both ends of the floor, and it's a big reason why she's poised to climb higher in the rankings this season.     Braylynn may be sitting just outside the top 100 right now, but she's already shown she can shift the momentum of a game. Coming off a strong finish to last season — capped by being named the 1A Player of the Year — she's proven her ability to lead and produce at a high level.
