South Dakota High School Team Rankings: Class AA

Preseason AA <ol> <li>1.<strong>Harrisburg</strong>- The Tigers are looking to bounce back from their title game lost against Aberdeen Central. Senior <strong>Jeniah Ugofsky</strong> is looking to make it to her 3^rd straight title game. She and junior <strong>Aby Phipps</strong> will call upon some of the younger players to help fill in voided positions. <strong>Brecli Honner</strong> will be key to the Tigers success. She will look to take a leadership role in the backcourt with <strong>Sydney Altenburg</strong> out with an ACL injury. Harrisburg may get a boost from senior <strong>Sadie Roth</strong> who is expected to return from injury in mid to late January.</li> <li></li> <li>2. <strong>Lincoln</strong>- The 3^rd place finish was not ideal for the Pats, but it was a step in the right direction. Before reaching the State Tournament last year, the Pats failed to make it for two consecutive years. Don’t tell that to the Lady Patriots who are eyeing a title for coach Daly and the Lincoln crazies.<strong> Morgan Hansen</strong>,<strong> Sydnaya Dunn</strong> and a cast of gifted players will be ready when the season tips-off.</li> <li></li> <li>3. <strong>Brandon Valley</strong>- If you’re looking for a team with experience, look no further than the Brandon Valley Lynx. This squad has 10 seniors, yes 10! All with unique contributions to the team. For most of them, these seniors have played since sophomore year. They have made an appearance in the State Tournament the last few years. Looking to cap off an amazing streak, the Lynx can run up and down the court on ya, especially with all the track stars they have on the team.</li> <li></li> <li>4. <strong>O’Gorman</strong>-In 2017 the Knights captured the crown. O’Gorman brings some talent to the table. D1 prospect <strong>Emma Ronsiek</strong> and Wayne State commit <strong>Awoti Akoi</strong> will hold down the paint. The Knights 2-3 zone gives teams headaches when trying to pass and shoot over 6 footers. It’s like those orange guys up there in Syracuse. You know it’s coming but can you stop it. NOPE!</li> <li></li> <li>5. <strong>Aberdeen</strong>-Losing the AP Player of the year, 20+ PPG 12+RPG and a bonafide leader will be tough. However, the Eagles have a championship pedigree. The defending champs will hear it all. What are you going to do without Burkhart? Who’s going to replace Burkhart? What is this? And what is that?
