My last articles of the month will be about some more players who've had standout starts to the high school season. We've highlighted a handful of impactful players over the first week of the high school season, and we'll wrap up the month doing the same thing. Let's discuss some players who've earned recognition to start the 2025-26 season.

Taylor Kling

Kling is a productive multi-sport athlete from Waupaca. In her senior season, she has been an excellent perimeter shooter who can space the floor and has knocked down multiple perimeter jumpers in two of the Comets' games played thus far this season. Kling has been an intriguing player as a senior and has been a reliable perimeter presence for a team needing players who can put points on the board in any way possible.

Kennadie Berg

Berg is an excellent interior player on both ends of the floor with the physicality to make things happen around the basket. The Altoona forward had an excellent game on the road at Eau Claire North, where she finished with 25 points and 17 rebounds against the Big Rivers foe. She has solid footwork around the basket and can find ways to work her way into space in the paint. Berg is also a player who boxes out with a purpose around the rim and rebounds at a high level.

[player_tooltip player_id='777580' first='Sarah' last='Bolchen']

The Manitowoc native is a quick guard who can force any defensive unit to bend when the ball is in her hands offensively. She does a solid job of getting to her defender's hip and finding ways to get two feet in the paint whenever she wants. Bolchen is also able to get the ball to her teammates when defenders help to keep her out of the lane. I also like her ability to play through and draw contact to get to the free-throw line multiple times per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1265488' first='Paige' last='Brafford']

The Three Lakes/Phelps forward had an intriguing performance in her team's opening season win. She scored 16 points and recorded four steals in the game, and even though it wasn't the best team her team will play this year. However, she did some things that jumped out to me. I thought it was noticeable that she didn't hesitate to push the ball up the floor when she got the ball in the backcourt. There were encouraging signs in what she did over the past week.
