Three players from Castlewood and three from Redfield made the list. Also, a big-time scorer from Deuel cracked a spot. The list order is not based upon talent level but simply by class.
Hannah Kuehn – Redfield – (5’6/G/2020) – A lock-down defender on the perimeter who matches up with the opposing teams top scoring threat. Can face-guard a scorer and limit them. Ability to shoot and knock down threes.
Kailee Clausen – Redfield – (5’8/G/2020) – A solid guard with high basketball IQ that can score. Has good handles and can easily get into the lane off the drive and finish or dish it off. Can finish with both her left and right hand. A good passer finding holes in the defense and not turning it over.
Britney Lovre – Deuel – (5’7/G/2020) – A big-time scorer that can shoot from deep in a variety of ways. A very skilled player that can crossover into a three and simply pull-up from deep three. She can really stretch and space the court. Does not need much space to get her shot off.
Peyton Melius – Faulkton – (6’0/F/2021) – A long six-footer that can defend all five positions on the court. She is able to stay in front of guards on the perimeter using her length. Can put the ball in the hoop and has a great ability to alter and block shots. Attacks the offensive glass hard for second chance opportunities.
Alayna Benike – Castlewood – (5’11/G/2021) – Castlewood’s leading and go-to guard. Handles it well, scores well, and known for her scoring, but her passing might be her best developed skill. Alayna can score from all areas of the court and has all the moves and skills to put up big-time points. Absolutely glides with the ball with speed looking to distribute and score.
Darah DeKam – Castlewood – (6’0/F-C/2021) – A smooth, somewhat finesse player with skills. A long and athletic frame, able to score inside and make passes to teammates. A very willing passer, finding open spots in the defense and kicking to shooters. On the defensive end she boxes out consistently and gets boards because of that.
Addison Rozell – Redfield – (6’2/F-C/2021) – Coming off an ACL injury, a very long prospect that is a true 6’2. She can play on the wing and in the post area. Able to snag boards up high with her incredible length.
Josslin Jarding – West Central – (5’6/G/2022) – A really nice, heady player. There are not many holes in her game. A constant playmaker on the court. A skilled player that hardly makes mistakes. She runs well, passes well, and can shoot the rock.
Maddie Horn – Castlewood – (5’10/G-F/2023) – An up-and-coming player that is a good athlete with some solid skills. Hasn’t truly broken out yet but her time should come. Just needs a little polish to make that next step with her game.
Allyson Wittler – Sully Buttes – (5’6/G/2023) – An intriguing player and scorer that has a lot of basketball ahead of her. Has natural basketball skills and a good feel for the game already. A player that could develop into something given experience.
