Part of the two headed monsters at the PG position for her team this weekend, Laela showed that she is just as capable of locking down an opposing PG as any other guard in attendance. An unselfish player on the offensive player who is a capable shooter, Laela is at her best when guarding on the ball. There was a possession today where she picked up an opposing PG and turned her multiple times up the floor. On one possession in particular she got tripped by a screen, fell, and still got back up and hustled into the play forcing a steal for a team. Look for her to be a problem on defense for any team she plays this season.

This kid plays with a lot of spunk and heart especially on the defensive end. She has quick hands and feet that allow her to get deflections that led in to steals and easy transition points. Laela also has some shifty moves with the ball in her hands and finds ways to score over bigger defenders.

A quick and scrappy guard, Laela brings great ball instincts to this 2030 class. One will often find her using her speed and quickness to be disruptive in passing lanes or first to loose balls, the kind of hustle plays that coaches will love as she continues to develop. Add to the mix a consistent mid range pull up, with the ability to get into small gaps on the offensive end, and Laela is ready to carve out a space for herself among the top talent in the 2030 class.
