<p>The 2025–26 high school basketball season is off to a great start. Here at Prep Girls Hoops, we continue to be amazed by the year-to-year growth we see in programs across the state. We're always excited to cover teams and highlight the evolving makeup of their rosters. In this article, we take a closer look at the Gardner Edgerton Lady Blazers.</p>

<p>GE competes in the always-competitive <strong>Sunflower League</strong>, which features programs from across some of the most talent-rich areas in Kansas, including <strong>Shawnee Mission, Overland Park, Olathe, Gardner, and Lawrence</strong>.</p>

<p>The Lady Blazers enter the 2025–26 season determined to turn things around after a challenging 2024–25 campaign. East finished <strong>6–7 in conference play and 11-11 overall</strong>. They are led by head coach <strong>Matt Jacobsen</strong> in his second year. </p>

<p><strong>Key Returners:</strong></p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='544056' first='Landri' last='Schaffer']</strong> - Landri is a long, athletic guard and one of our top-ranked players in the Class of 2026. She's a true three-level scorer who can flat-out fill it up. Landri finishes well around the basket with either hand, uses floaters when needed, consistently knocks down the mid-range, and extends her range beyond the arc.</p>

<p>On the defensive end, she's highly active both on and off the ball, creating turnovers and forcing opponents into tough shots. She's an exceptional shot blocker for her position and rebounds at a high level, impacting the game on both ends of the floor.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='773207' first='Addisen' last='Ratley']</strong> - Addisen plays with great energy and intensity and is one of the team's leaders, bringing valuable experience back from a year ago. She's a true two-way player who does an excellent job defensively while also being productive on the offensive end. She also is an excellent rebounder from the guard spot.</p>

<p>Addisen finishes well around the rim and can stretch the defense with her ability to knock down shots from long range, making her a constant threat on the floor.</p>

<p><strong>Makayla Cox</strong> - Senior forward that bring good energy and depth at the guard spot for GE. Cox is a much needed utility player that is called on to do all the work that goes on noticed to the regular eye. She's selfless and a team first type a player. </p>

<p><strong>Kylie Kyle</strong> - Kyle brings added depth and valuable experience back from a year ago. She's an active defender both on and off the ball and has a knack for being around the action defensively. Kyle consistently gets deflections that often turn into steals.</p>

<p>Offensively, she can knock down the open three and finishes well around the basket, making her a reliable contributor on both ends of the floor.</p>

<p><strong>Morgan Beasley</strong> - Beasley provides the group with a much-needed post presence. She's a monster on the glass and does an excellent job tracking down rebounds outside of her area. Beasley brings toughness on the defensive end, especially around the basket.</p>

<p>Offensively, she can also step out and knock down the perimeter shot, adding versatility to her game.</p>
