Yesterday we took a look at some of the top sophomores around the Northwest Ohio region, and today, I will take a look at some of the key juniors. This will be a beginning of a few days of top juniors, who are going to be many of the top seniors in the region heading into next season. Northwest Ohio Key Juniors [player_tooltip player_id="91125" first="Olivia" last="Sims"], 5-8 Toledo Notre Dame Academy Olivia has already made her college decision, as she will head to Oakland University, and he will take a multi-dimensional talent with her. Very solid and under-appreciated player who has the skills to be a major factor from out beyond the arc. She can score at all three levels, and while she can hurt you with her outside game, she is also athletic enough to get past her defender and score at the rim. Good finisher. Also can create space and score from the midrange. She 43% from beyond the arc. Brooklyn Green, 5-8 Delta Good footwork around the basket, can catch and score in the paint. Uses her body to control the play, can play physical. Also has great range out beyond the arc, can score both inside and out. Has a knack to be around the ball, rebounds well and can finish at the rim. Good handles, make things happen on the court. Can handle and score with either hand. Great penetrator to the rim. McKenna Stephens, 5-9 Willard Part of the regional runner-up Flashes and was a great team leader. Plays bigger than she is, a tough competitor with a solid vertical game. Will battle on the boards, quick from foul line to foul line. Good in transition game and gets to the rim. Can score inside, or step out to 15-feet. Known as a hard-nosed defender and can defend either a good wing player or can defend the paint. Was a good compliment to senior all-Ohioian [player_tooltip player_id="89339" first="Cassidy" last="Crawford"]. [player_tooltip player_id="91085" first="Kacee" last="Baumhower"], 5-9 Sylvania Northview Very talented player in ball screen situations as both a scorer and a passer. Can score at the rim, or get to the free throw line. Will look for the best shot and can get the ball to her teammates. Strong rebounder and plays bigger than she is. Kacee (pictured above) can ignite an offense with great transition basketball out of a break. Gets the ball down the court quickly for the easy transition basket. Getting better from the perimeter, and is a threat to score from anywhere. Received a lot of awards this season, will only get better. [player_tooltip player_id="91108" first="Nicole" last="Knippen"], 5-8 Ottoville As the only returning starter back from last year, Nicole grew quickly into a solid leader which showed all year long. She has the ability to get to the hoop, can score from the perimeter and has become a very solid defensive player. She has the intangibles to make everyone around her better. Great bloodlines as her sister played college basketball. Definitely a player to look at for your program as she heads into her senior season.
