Northwest Ohio key juniors- Part 3
Allison Teglovic, 5-8 North Robinson Colonel Crawford
The type of player that coaches strive to have on their team. One of the hardest workers in that part of Ohio, she is always looking to work on and improve her game. Very high basketball IQ, called a student of the game as she is like a coach on the floor. Allison can score in multiple ways, either by attacking the rim, posting up on her defender or by scoring from behind the arc. Yes she can score, but she is an efficient player shooting 45% from the field and a very consistent free throw shooter. Also strong on the defensive boards and will distribute the ball well to the open player.
Taylor Strock Taylor Strock 5'5" | CG Napoleon | 2021 State OH , 5-7 Napoleon
Taylor is an athletic wing, who will end up being a 4-year player at Napoleon (3 straight District Championships – 2018, 2019, and 2020 and 1 Regional Championship – 2020). She understands how to use her body and athleticism well to get to the rim and can finish well with either hand. She has greatly improved her overall shooting from the 3-point line this past season. Defensively, she is a very good on-ball defender who is consistently tasked with guarding the other team’s top players and many times holding them under their points per game average.
Gabby Whitzel Gabby Whitzel 5'8" | CG St. Ursula | 2021 State OH , 5-8 Toledo St. Ursula
Good combo guard who shines from the perimeter, out to beyond the arc. Moves well with the ball, can create space and has a quick release. Can also score off the move from midrange. Deep deep range, not afraid to pull the trigger. Gabby can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim, finishes well with contact. Quick hands on defense, can turn the tide of the game with transition basketball following a turnover. Runs the floor well.
Kylie Griggs, 5-4 Perrysburg
Bigtime two-sports star, Kylie has chosen to play her other love…softball at the University of Pittsburgh. She is no stranger to basketball success, as she is one of the top players in the district, and led her team to the regional finals this year. Tough player to guard because she can bury the three, or get by her defender and score at the rim. Incredible on-ball defender with great lateral movement. Very tenacious player and steps up in the biggest games.
Hayley St. John, 5-10 Millbury Lake
Hayley’s improved ball handling and her ability to shoot from the perimeter led her to become a threat from all areas on the court. Her size, athleticism, and skill set have proven to pose matchup issues for opposing teams, and her ability to guard all five positions has made her a valuable player to have on the floor. Consistent from all over the court.
