I was planning on hitting a few games before tonight, but I'll only have one game to head out to in Madison. In the meantime, we'll look at some players who have had excellent starts to their seasons and deserve some recognition heading into the holiday break. That said, let's look at some players who have impressed in the first month of the high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='992497' first='Jazlyn' last='Alwin']

Alwin is a talented wing who has helped Wisconsin Dells become one of the more prominent teams in Division 3 this season. The Chiefs wing is a talented perimeter shooter who can knock down shots consistently and reads the game well enough to make plays in the passing lanes. Alwin has been excellent for a Chiefs program looking to make a deep postseason run this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1359333' first='Piper' last='Moyer']

The Adams-Friendship wing is an athletic multi-sport athlete who can make plays around the basket and record a double-double anytime she steps on the floor. Moyer possesses some explosive athletic tools, which enable her to rebound over a crowd and make extra-effort plays that can help her team win games. Her effort around the basket is hard to ignore, and I've liked watching her team's games on stream when I've gotten the opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id='1219748' first='Adilyn' last='Esser']

Esser is a rangey guard who has the length to make plays on the ball defensively and generate live-ball turnovers to get her team into their transition offense. The Highland guard is also a skilled perimeter shooter who can spot up beyond the three-point line and knock down shots. She has a high release that she can utilize to shoot over contests and make it challenging for defenses to contest her shot. She is a small-school player who may not get the statewide recognition that others do, but Esser is a name to know in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267665' first='Kalli' last='Nelson']

The Solon Springs guard has been excellent in her first handful of games at the high school level. Nelson has made plays with the ball in her hands, scoring in the mid-range area well for a player still learning what works and what doesn't at the high school level. She plays at one of the smaller schools in the state and has been an impactful player as the focal point of her team's offense. Nelson is a player who can be one of the more impressive players from her part of the state that we've seen in a while.
