The opening round — and only round — of the Kansas 1A state championships opened on Wednesday with quarterfinal play at the United Wireless Arena in Dodge City. Hanover defeated Otis-Bison 41-36; Central Plains ran away from Ingalls, 93-47; Centralia defeated Cunningham 48-46; and Olpe defeated Norwich 59-43. On Thursday, KSHSAA announced the remaining state tournament games would not be played. Here, Prep Girls Hoops takes a look at several players who raised their profile at the event. Kennedy Becker, 5’9, G/F, 2020, Centralia An athletic forward who can run the floor and block shots. Becker he’s a talented player who has a lot of skills and good athleticism. She has a long frame as well and shoots a high-percentage shot around the glass. She just stays active and is always on the move and looking to contribute however she can. Becker had 21 points for the game, hitting 9-10 from the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="90170" first="Tianna" last="Lohse"], 5’9, G/F, 2020, Hanover Lohse is a solid two-way player who is great at forcing turnovers and scoring on the move. She can play inside and around the basket but is also comfortable on the perimeter and the mid-range area. She just knows how to make plays and gets points and can make something happen defensively.
