Battle For Manassas: Osbourn Park Versus Gainesville

first quarter   Gainesville went with a different starting lineup in this game inserting Sydnie Nicholson. Very first possession of the game. After a couple of empty possessions, [player_tooltip player_id='239413' first='Keyareh' last='Rainey'] got a half-quarter steal to break the drought for OP. Gainesville‘s offense looked stagnant. OP was able to capitalize on a nice inbound play with a pass to freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1226845' first='Kristina' last='Dallas'] for a layup. Both teams traded free throws and at the end of one.   Osbourne Park 12 Gainesville High School 8     Second quarter   [player_tooltip player_id='551071' first='Leylani' last='Abraham'] got things started for Gainesville with two good back-to-back low-post seal layups. [player_tooltip player_id='448324' first='Samia' last='Snead'] was able to have a back-to-back one of her own converting on a pull-up jumper and a transition steel that ended up as a layup that prompted Gainesville to call the time out! Halfway through the second quarter [player_tooltip player_id='551071' first='Leylani' last='Abraham'] accounted for all six points for Gainesville. With high ball pressure at the top of the key from [player_tooltip player_id='579893' first='Peyton' last='White'], [player_tooltip player_id='1045069' first='Tierney' last='Meyers'] was able to make a nice move to the basket and get a nice floater for her fifth point game. [player_tooltip player_id='551071' first='Leylani' last='Abraham'] was an absolute force in the low block scoring all the field goals 10 points in the quarter for Gainesville High School this far which included a sick he took her out spin move to the baseline scoop layup! After a Payton white free-throw that cut the lead to one point after 2 quarters   Osbourne Park 22 Gainesville High School 21     3rd quarter   After a good 30-second possession, Longwood commit [player_tooltip player_id='448324' first='Samia' last='Snead'] was able to get to the basket for a nice layup. After free throws from Gainesville. [player_tooltip player_id='1252250' first='Jaelyn' last='Gorham'] was able to come off a set rotation in the play and hit a nice three-point bomb to put OP up by five points. After a sick reverse left-hand layup by Jaylen West. [player_tooltip player_id='1045069' first='Tierney' last='Meyers'] was able to hit back-to-back second three-pointers to put Osbourne Park up by 11 points. [player_tooltip player_id='448324' first='Samia' last='Snead'] was able to penetrate to the bucket and have a nice Assist to [player_tooltip player_id='239413' first='Keyareh' last='Rainey']. Gainesville was able to answer right back with a nice layup from [player_tooltip player_id='579893' first='Peyton' last='White'] for her first field goal of the game. Gainesville was able to cut it to seven points after two free throws from [player_tooltip player_id='551071' first='Leylani' last='Abraham'] but [player_tooltip player_id='786440' first='Janey' last='Salinas'] hit a back-breaking three-point basket in the corner to put the lead back at 10 points. After a questionable foul call and free throws made for Osbourne Park [player_tooltip player_id='1045069' first='Tierney' last='Meyers'] was able to steal the inbound pass to extend the lead to 13 points. Gainesville was able to cut into the lead with two free throws, but on the next possession, [player_tooltip player_id='239413' first='Keyareh' last='Rainey'] and [player_tooltip player_id='448324' first='Samia' last='Snead'] hit back-to-back top-of-the-key three-pointer shots for OP‘s largest lead of 15 points. [player_tooltip player_id='962762' first='Addyson' last='Lawhorne'] was able to hit a much-needed corner three-pointer. But that shot was answered by Osbourne Park's third consecutive three as a team to end the quarter by [player_tooltip player_id='239413' first='Keyareh' last='Rainey'].     Osbourne Park 54 Gainesville High School 40      4th Quarter   [player_tooltip player_id='1045069' first='Tierney' last='Meyers'] was able to drive to the basket and get an offensive rebound off her own missed shot for a left-hand layup to start the quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='239413' first='Keyareh' last='Rainey'] was able to slice to the bucket and get some attention and kick it out to [player_tooltip player_id='376331' first='Jayel' last='West'] for three stretching the lead, she was able to follow that up with another left-hand layup at the basket to extend the lead to 23 to put a cap on this game!     Osbourne Park 64, Gainesville High School 42     *Three takeaways from the game*     [player_tooltip player_id='1045069' first='Tierney' last='Meyers'] is the glue piece for this team! A good two-way player!   For Gainesville to make a run, they have to be more productive on the offensive end.   [player_tooltip player_id='551071' first='Leylani' last='Abraham'] was impressive and looked unstoppable at times.
