Keota has been a team with some success so far this season within the 1A Class. Their main producer being [player_tooltip player_id='1091297' first='Cameron' last='Haifley']. Haifley isn't just showing up at the teams main offensive scorer. She is also leading the program in APG and BPG from her guard position to help lead her team to a 9-3 record overall. Haifley makes her money at the basket. She is good at finishing on either side of the hoop, being solid once she gets there off the dribble. She will need to continue to work on her shooting skill set but she does too many good things for that to hold her back from having some memorable battles so far this Winter.

The Hough sisters are a group to note. There are a set of twins that are Sophomores and another Freshman, that can all play at a respectable rate. The one o want to highlight in this piece being the Freshman PG - Lauryn. Lauryn might not be the scoring threat that her older sisters are just yet but she is a better overall player when it comes to the numbers so far this season. Hough is leading her team in APG, setting up everyone else around her for successful situations. She is also making her mark in the rebounding and steals department as well. GTRA sits with a 10-1 record as they look to continue on this memorable run into the Post Season and they should be able to do just that if everything goes their way.

If I told Tipton High School that halfway through January they would be 10-1 with an average margin of victory of 20.1 PPG on the season, I'm sure they would be ecstatic. Well that's whats happening right now. The Tigers are 10-1 and doing work! Their best prospect, that are really risen to the top this Winter is SF - [player_tooltip player_id='1314677' first='Jordyn' last='Schmidt']. Schmidt isn't the biggest player on the roster, that competes near the lane but she is their most productive and that has to be because of her athletic play-making ability at her position. Opponents can't stick with her athletic prowess and her natural skill, leaving them in the dust and her in the stat book each evening. Schmidt could take this team on a run once the Playoffs start. Especially considering that she has others surrounding her who can also produce from all over the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='833966' first='Lizzy' last='Frazell'] of Waverly Shell Rock is a D1 committed player and she is acting like it this season for her final go-around. Frazell has that combination of size, skill, and smarts that every coach loves to work with. She is a 6'0 Guard with a three level scoring ability for the most part, so you can probably understand why she has been making easy work of everyone else in her way to begin this season. WSR is sitting with an 11-1 record but they have some highly rated matchups coming to them in the near future. That's when we will really figure out which programs are legit and which have some work to do before they can bring home a State Title.

CW and her Maquoketa High School program are holding at 8-2 record throughout their first 10 games of the season. Widel, the D2 - Upper Iowa Commit, has been competing out of the Forward spot and smashing her assignments at a high rate. She is showing her force with her back to the basket out of the post whenever she can, she is stepping out to hit three pointers all the time, and she is defending like her life depends on it. In general this group is HIGHLY rated as a team that will be making the upcoming State Tournament within the Playoffs and that's hard to debate against in all honesty. They are clearly one of the most talented teams, top-to-bottom, and they should have a chance of winning out their regular season so they will have a good seed coming into the Post-season. They just need to not get ahead of themselves.
