Avery is in her second season of varsity action after a very successful eighth grade year. She averaged 10.2 points per game and recorded 4.9 rebounds per game last season, very impressive for anyone, let alone an 8th grader. Avery has started her second varsity season just as impressive as her first. She is great at getting downhill to the basket and using her strength for tough finishes. She has begun to stretch her shot to the three-point line and is hoping to become a consistent threat as she progresses through high school. I anticipate Avery making the All-Region team this season.

Madelyn has found herself a starter as a freshman on a very good Kindred Vikings team. She is a quick guard that is still growing into her lengthy frame. I like how hard she plays and her willingness to accept her current role while working towards a bigger role in the future. She plays the bottom of Kindred's half-court 1-3-1 zone, a position where she excels. Her speed and quickness is on display while she flies from corner to corner in their zone. She is a good screener and is able to dribble out of double teams. Pederson is going to be a good player for the Vikings.

Hammer is someone with a lot of potential. She looks longer than her 5'10 frame and has good strength for a sophomore post. She runs the floor well and pursues rebounds on both sides of the court. She keeps her arms up and moves her feet well defensively. I think she can become a solid player with continued improvement on the offensive side. She has the body to be able to seal up the lane for easy baskets.

Marlee has a great motor and plays with tremendous effort. She has a very quick first step and is able to rip the ball and get past primary defenders with ease. She attacks the basket aggressively and is able to finish in traffic or draw contact to get to the free-throw line. She gets up to the free-throw line and is able to knock them down with a good looking shot.

Flanagan is a key reserve on a guard heavy Central Cass squad. She is the first sub off of the bench and does a good job of plugging right into the game. She is a good-sized guard with good speed. She is good at closing out and keeping opponents in front of her defensively. She has active arms and makes passing around her difficult. I like her shooting form. She is able to knock down the three but needs a little more confidence to become more of a threat. She will be a solid guard for the Squirrels for years to come.
