This was the third tryout for the Nike Houston Pro Skills squad, and most of these players I wrote about, either in previous articles from this session or the 2nd tryout, but I have to give shout outs to these young ladies for bringing the heat and keeping it going

Lou grabbed my attention years ago; however, I lost track of her and found out she had hurt her knee when we reconnected at last season's Nike Houston Pro Skills tryout, where she made my "On The Verge" tip sheet see evaluation here, and I knew she was on the way back, so the next time I saw her, she made my Elevating Their Games article see evaluation here so it was great to see her showing signs of her former self. She was one of the standouts at the Houston Christian college camp, see evaluation here, but I'm expecting her to do some big things in the club season because she's showing more athleticism on both ends of the court. Her body control after contact has gotten better, so has her court vision, yet seeing her create her shot and drop the midrange consistently was a huge plus

Taylor is a "long and athletic" guard who also happens to fall into that #sizedontmatter group because when you can play, it doesn't matter. Her deceptive first step was nice as she got the defender off balance for her to attack and score. She also saw the floor and made the right decisions, yet being heady on both ends was a plus because she read the switches and did a good job defending in the set

Aroocha gave me my first look; however, a former writer for Prep Girls Hoops saw her back in 2024 see evaluation here, but always remember my evaluations are based on what I see and not what someone else writes or says, so let me start with she's also a "long and athletic" guard who doers a good job of creating her shot to drop the jumper yet she also understands how to attack and finish from multiple spots. She handles the ball and sees the floor under pressure, and plays solid defense
