Simmie Colson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Lou has been seen by me in multiple settings which is also good and watching her early in high school showed her potential. We lost track, she was out with an injury yet came back with a bang and seeing her BRING IT at club basketball tournaments, college evaluation events along with club basket ball TRYOUTS has her in a position to do some damage the season see evaluation here

Lou grabbed my attention years ago; however, I lost track of her and found out she had hurt her knee when we reconnected at last season’s Nike Houston Pro Skills tryout, where she made my “On The Verge” tip sheet see evaluation here, and I knew she was on the way back, so the next time I saw her, she made my Elevating Their Games article see evaluation here so it was great to see her showing signs of her former self. She was one of the standouts at the Houston Christian college camp, see evaluation here, but I’m expecting her to do some big things in the club season because she’s showing more athleticism on both ends of the court. Her body control after contact has gotten better, so has her court vision, yet seeing her create her shot and drop the midrange consistently was a huge plus

Lou has made a solid comeback from an injury, and what she does is fill in many blanks. She understands how to create her shot as well as create spacing to get it off and drop it. She also does a good job of getting the defender off balance so she can attack and score or dish off the dribble. Her court vision in transition also looked good, as did her defense, but in the set and baseline-to-baseline

Lou is not only crafty with the ball, but she’s also shifty, and giving me the slight HEZ or STUTTA step to get the defender off balance was nice as it helped her score or dish off the dribble. Her body control was nice on her finishes after contact, she dropped the midrange, catch and shoot included, and also did a good job defending and hitting the boards

Lou initially got my attention at the Simmie Colson Classic a couple of years ago see evaluation here and she told me she had been out with an injury yet you’d never know. She had one of the best crossovers at the event and watching her zig-zag by defenders to score was nice yet she also dropped the jumper while being defended. She also did a good job playing the passing lane
