We vividly remember Murphy’s stellar performance she put forth for Charlotte Dream Elite at the end of March at the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit’s Southeast Kickoff. Murphy helped her team to a 4-0 record in the foothills of western North Carolina. The Catawba Ridge team she will suit up for in the 2026-27 season is set to move down from 5A to 4A. Murphy is a talented combo guard who can also give a team worthwhile minutes in the frontcourt as a forward. She also spent May’s live period in Georgia at the Live at LakePoint event as the Charlotte Dream Elite 14U played up in class in the 15U division. 

Aficionados of Catawba Ridge have to be excited for what Murphy can do to revitalize that program over the next several seasons as the Copperheads return to the 4A ranks. Murphy was another reason why Charlotte Dream Elite 14U concluded Southeast Kickoff weekend as the lone unbeaten assembling in the 15U division. She can find time on the court either as a small forward or as a two guard. A high point for Murphy’s weekend occurred on Sunday when she scored 10 points to help in an offensive onslaught against Carolina All-Stars 15U BSB. She has played her middle school ball at Forest Creek MS. 

The Copperheads of 5A Division 2 Catawba Ridge are set to drop back down to the 4A classification beginning with the 2026-27 season. Murphy could be a bridge to get the Copperheads back to the winning ways they enjoyed a few years ago. Murphy is another that can be placed in a team’s starting five either at the two or the three which will give her plenty of time at the wing. When her Charlotte Dream Elite 14U assembling matched up against Carolina All-Stars 15U BSB, Murphy was part of an offensive onslaught that was able to get out in transition and convert on high-percentage shot opportunities.
