ECI is consistently one of the top programs in the Dakotas and that should be the case again this year.
Here is a quick look at ECI Gold
Guards: Chloe Pfau, Kacie Burner, Sydney Gustavsson, Piper Harris, Draya Wacker
Pfau and Burner are both playing up two grade levels but are among the top prospects in North Dakota’s 2023 class.
Pfau is a big guard who showed during her freshman season at West Fargo that she can impact the game in a variety of ways. She’s a strong defender, a solid slasher, capable shot-maker and excellent playmaker. She’ll have the ball in her hands a lot with a lot of opportunity to shine in this setting.
Burner’s been an integral part of that loaded Kindred team the last two years and will have an even bigger role heading into next year. She is an excellent 3-point shooter who supplies strong on and off ball defense.
Gustavsson emerged as one of the best players in the WDA during her junior year, averaging 14 points for a strong Mandan team. She showcased her ability to shoot the ball effectively, make plays and defend. She’s one of the top to-be seniors in the state.
Harris was a solid role player for Mandan last year, showing off a strong shooting stroke and the ability to make plays for her teammates. She’s playing up a level this summer and will have a lot of opportunity to handle the ball and facilitate for this team.
Wacker is playing up a grade level this summer as well, and was one of the most explosive scorers in Montana last year, averaging better than 20 points per game. She’s long and highly skilled and should give this team some scoring punch.
Forwards: Logan Nissley, Abbey Kubas, Ashley Holen, Lindsey Hein
Nissley is perhaps the best 2023 prospect in North Dakota, coming off a terrific season for Bismarck Century where she showed all the tools to be a dominant player. She’s got great size, athleticism, smarts and skill. She shoots it well, she defends, she rebounds and she can make plays. Playing up two grade levels should only enhance her development.
Holen was solid for Watford City last year, averaging 14 points and seven rebounds for a team that didn’t have a lot of shooting around her. She’ll have a lot of opportunity to excel in this setting, surrounded by more playmakers and shooters.
Kubas was dominant last year for Dickinson Trinity, averaging a double double inside. She’s highly skilled around the rim, relentless on both backboards and sound defensively.
Hein is a 6-foot-6 Montana State commit from Forsyth who had interest from Big 10 programs. She’s got a nice shooting touch and the mobility to dominate games on the defensive end of the floor.
