Every major event features the highly-ranked prospects that fans, scouts, and college coaches come expecting to see. But often, some of the most exciting performances come from the players who arrive with little fanfare and leave with everyone talking. The Prep Girls Hoops Texas Tip-Off was no different.

Throughout the weekend, a number of prospects elevated their stock by showcasing their skill, toughness, and ability to impact winning. While they may not yet be household names on the recruiting trail, these players proved they have the talent and upside to demand attention moving forward.

What stood out most was the versatility displayed by many of these hidden gems. Several players showed the ability to score from multiple levels, defend multiple positions, and make winning plays in key moments. Others impressed with their relentless effort, rebounding, defensive intensity, and willingness to embrace their role for the betterment of the team.

The Texas Tip-Off also served as a reminder that rankings and exposure don't always tell the full story. Some prospects used the event to introduce themselves to a larger audience, while others continued building momentum as rising players within their respective classes. Whether it was a guard controlling the pace of play, a wing knocking down timely shots, or a post player dominating the paint, these athletes consistently found ways to stand out against quality competition.

One common trait shared among the weekend's hidden gems was confidence. They competed without fear, embraced the spotlight, and delivered when their teams needed them most. Those are qualities that coaches at every level value, and they were on full display throughout the event.

As the summer grassroots season continues, don't be surprised if several of these prospects begin appearing more frequently in conversations surrounding rankings, recruiting, and future breakout candidates. Their performances at the Texas Tip-Off were not accidental—they were the result of hard work, preparation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The future is bright for these under-the-radar standouts. They may have entered the weekend as hidden gems, but after their performances at the Texas Tip-Off, they won't stay hidden for long.

Did you miss my most recent article?
Tap in using the link below and stay updated on the latest evaluations, rankings, and rising prospects.

Follow me on Instagram or X: @CoachLathan

Texas Tip-Off: 17U Frontcourt Standouts | Prep Girls Hoops

Texas Tip-Off: Backcourt Standouts | Prep Girls Hoops

Texas Tip-Off: 17U Top Performers | Prep Girls Hoops

[player_tooltip player_id='1819082' first='Jentry' last='Holland'] is a 5'7" small forward/power forward in the 2027 class who brings toughness, energy, and versatility to the floor. Competing with [program_tooltip program_id='1246824' first='Texas' last='Fierce Elite'], Holland showed the ability to impact the game in multiple ways without needing plays called for her.

Holland plays with a strong motor and does a good job embracing physicality around the basket. She competes on the glass, fights for position, and looks comfortable making plays in traffic. Offensively, she can finish around the rim, attack open gaps, and contribute as a cutter when the defense loses sight of her.

Defensively, Holland brings effort and activity. She has the ability to guard multiple spots, battle inside, and help her team with rebounds and hustle plays. Her willingness to do the little things makes her valuable, especially in tough, competitive games.

As she continues to develop her ball-handling, shooting consistency, and overall offensive polish, Holland has the tools to keep growing as a productive two-way forward. Her toughness, effort, and versatility make her a player worth tracking in the 2027 class.

Maryam Nofal is a long, athletic 6'1" frontcourt prospect in the 2026 class who brings size, mobility, and defensive presence to the floor. Competing with [program_tooltip program_id='715662' first='A1' last='Sauce Sports'], Nofal showed the ability to impact the game with her length, activity, and willingness to do the work around the rim.

Defensively, Nofal stood out with her timing as a shot blocker and ability to alter attempts in the paint. She moves well for her size, stays active on the defensive end, and has the tools to protect the rim while also covering space. Her length makes her difficult to finish over, and her effort pursuing rebounds gives her team extra possessions.

Offensively, Nofal is effective when running the floor, catching around the basket, and finishing high-percentage looks. She keeps the ball high, plays strong through contact, and understands how to be a reliable target inside. Her ability to rebound, protect the rim, and finish around the basket gives her value as a frontcourt piece.

[player_tooltip player_id='1790937' first='Arsh' last='Khan'] is a 5'5” shooting guard/point guard in the 2027 class out of Plano East, competing with [program_tooltip program_id='715662' first='A1' last='Sauce Sports']. At the Texas Tip-Off, Khan showed the ability to impact the game as a confident perimeter threat and steady backcourt piece.

Khan describes herself as a quick shooter, and that part of her game stood out. She looks comfortable getting shots up within the flow of the offense and has the confidence to let it fly when given space. Her ability to play both guard spots gives her value, especially as a player who can space the floor, handle the ball when needed, and keep defenses honest from the perimeter.

Offensively, Khan showed flashes as a shot-maker who can stretch the defense and provide scoring from the outside. She understands how to get into shooting pockets and does not need much time to release the ball. As she continues to develop her ball-handling, strength, and ability to create off the bounce, her offensive game will continue to expand.

Defensively, Khan competed and showed willingness to stay involved. Continued growth as an on-ball defender and playmaker will help round out her overall game. Her shooting ability, confidence, and versatility in the backcourt make her a prospect to continue watching in the 2027 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1798315' first='Madison' last='Johnson'] is a 5'6" shooting guard/small forward in the 2027 class who brings versatility, energy, and scoring ability to the floor. Competing with Top Prospect Hoops, Johnson showed flashes of being a valuable two-way piece with the ability to contribute in multiple areas.

Offensively, Johnson displayed confidence as a perimeter threat and showed the ability to attack openings when defenders closed out. She moves well without the ball, finds space within the offense, and can impact the game as a spot-up shooter or slasher. Her willingness to play within the flow of the game allows her to make smart reads and take quality shots.

Defensively, Johnson competed with effort and stayed active on the ball. Her energy, toughness, and ability to guard multiple spots give her added value, especially as a wing who can contribute on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='1798733' first='Anslee' last='Morse'] is a 5'4" shooting guard/point guard in the 2027 class who showed toughness, confidence, and guard versatility at the Texas Tip-Off. Despite being undersized, Morse plays with energy and does a good job staying involved on both ends of the floor.

Offensively, Morse showed the ability to handle the ball, space the floor, and create opportunities within the flow of the offense. She has confidence as a perimeter player and can serve as either a secondary ball handler or scoring guard when needed. Her quickness helps her get into gaps, while her decision-making allows her to keep the offense moving.

Defensively, Morse competed with effort and used her quickness to apply pressure on the ball. She stayed active, worked to disrupt passing lanes, and showed the willingness to battle against bigger guards.

Morse is a prospect who brings energy, toughness, and backcourt versatility. As she continues to develop her strength, consistency, and shot creation, she has the tools to keep growing into a reliable guard in the 2027 class.
