The 2024 Class has the potential to be a very special class and it is deep at every position. Desert Vista has as deep of a class as I can remember and Xavier continues to load up on top level talent. There a couple of surprises in the list but the talent is there to support the rankings.
(1) Ahwatukee Desert Vista
- Top 60 players: 8
- Players of note: Shay Ijiwoye, Aniyah Riddle, Eanae Dragons, SaRae Kennard, Madison Brown, Kate Larney, Eilania Soanes, Sydnie Taylor
- Notes: Could be the deepest class in some time. All the players have extensive club experience and Ijiwoye could be the top ranked player in the class. Desert Vista pretty much has every position covered. Extremely unselfish group of players. 7 of the 8 players come from the same club program (AZ Elite – Rey) which was the most dominant middle school club team in AZ last season.
(2) Phoenix Xavier
- Top 60 players: 3
- Players of note: Dominique Nesland, Sarah Miller, Maureen Ulrich
- Notes: It’s hard to get a better combo of players than these 3 and in a normal year this class would be #1. I will say that Xavier does have the top group of underclassmen when you factor in 2023 players Mia Davis Mia Davis 6'0" | SG Dream City Christian | 2023 State #12 Nation AZ , Sienna Cherwinski Sienna Cherwinski 5'7" | PG Xavier Prep | 2023 State AZ and Hannah Young which was part of last years top incoming class.
(3) Chandler Hamilton
- Top 60 players: 4 (potentially 5)
- Players of note: Reanna Farrington, Savanna Creal, Breanna Sommers, Melia Graham
- Notes: A well balanced group with really good size and great upside. Farrington should make an immediate impact on the talent rich Hamilton program. Creal could be the sleeper in the class.
(4) Glendale Deer Valley
- Top 60 players: 3-4
- Players of note: Izzy Majarucon, Olivia Holub, Nadya Gutierrez
- Notes: Majarucon and Gutierrez are polished point guards that can co-exist and play well together in the back court. Holub will be a welcomed addition joining 2023 Michaela Lee forming a couple 6 footers in the paint.
(5) Yuma Cibola
- Top 60 players: 4
- Players of note: Sierra Bomhower, Taylee Stuebs, Isabela Molina, Hennessie Gutierrez
- Notes: 2024 could possibly end up as the best class for any Yuma High School in recent memory. These players come from the same club team (Cobra Venom). Bomhower has the ingredients to be a very special player.
Others with multiple Top 60 players: Canyon Springs (2), Dobson (2), Saguaro (2)
