This wave of talent is a perfect blend of old school and modern game. What stood out most while covering these prospects is their ability to process information, make adjustments, and keep adding dimensions to their game. These are the new faces of New York — players who can transcend a program. What's been impressive to watch lately is the physical evolution defensively, she's not shying away from the challenge despite size, she's growing into it, absorbing the contact and even starting to dish it out. Offensively, vision, poise, shot creation, and fearlessness are her best attributes. She has weapons to create for others but is equally aggressive hunting high-percentage looks for herself. Thomas is experienced, leads, and has that silky smooth scorer's mentality. Has really burst onto the scene this summer and loves to play. Sipkin is the complete package, a five-tool player coming into her own as her confidence grows in every situation. She has range/accuracy from the perimeter, elite mechanics, but can just as easily rip and go, slicing her way to the basket, and finishing with an array of moves (love her floater). She loves to run the break, can change direction on a dime, and set up teammates with her elite court vision. But make no mistake, Sipkin can close, and she does it with precision and accuracy. A wrecking ball. Explosive and dynamic with elite speed and change of pace with the handle. What she lacks in size, she makes up for in every other area. The biggest leap has been with her pace, playmaking, and decision-making, which rounds out an already complete game. She can score at all three levels with smooth, fluid mechanics and a nice touch on the ball. Defensively, she is elite in lockdown matchups, half-court and iso situations, and always looking to push the pace. Excels in motion offense with good spacing, sets screens, and keeps the ball moving. The finishing ability in the paint is elite, and her footwork allows her to score effectively in a variety of situations.
