Crystal was named the NY vs. NY MVP and earned an invitation back to the SLAM Summer Classic Vol. 8. She does a good job getting into the mid-range, stopping on a dime and letting her pull-up jumper fly. Crystal finishes well at the rim and is also a good playmaker who can get into the paint and kick the ball out when the defense collapses. She is a knockdown catch-and-shoot three-point shooter as well.

Thomas stepped onto the court for her team’s semifinal matchup with vengeance on the mind. I’m not sure why or if she always competes with that chip on the shoulder mentality but CT can make big plays and she isn’t afraid to let you know about it. She led the entire contest in scoring to start the first quarter in this matchup making shots from the outside, within the midrange, and all the way near the bucket. She also demonstrated that she is a willing passer whenever she would get down hill and attract more attention than just her individual defender. This Exodus group has some ballers and Thomas is definitely in that conversation.

Crystal may be one of the smaller guards on the floor but her impact isn’t. She pushes the pace in transition creates opportunities for teammates, attacks the rim and stretches the defense with her shooting from deep. Add her ball pressure and she proved to be the type of player who influences possessions.

Thomas is a player whose basketball IQ is off the charts, a true playmaker who can make every pass on the floor. What’s been impressive to watch lately is the physical evolution defensively, she’s not shying away from the challenge despite size, she’s growing into it, absorbing the contact and even starting to dish it out. Offensively, vision, poise, shot creation, and fearlessness are her best attributes. She has weapons to create for others but is equally aggressive hunting high-percentage looks for herself. Thomas is experienced, leads, and has that silky smooth scorer’s mentality. She makes tough shots look routine and continues to refine her game in all areas.
