Battle In The Sunflower: 14U Tri State Cyclones

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The most impressive team to me in 14U at the Battle in the Sunflower tournament last weekend was the Tri State Cyclones! A unique blend of talent hailing from a combination of Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. These girls, to me, have the most upside by far as a squad in this division and also as they advance on up. They play with a tremendous amount of heart, never give up, play consistently hard no matter the circumstance, and most of all, they play for each other.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They might be named Tri-State, but I wouldn't 'Try Em'! This group of young girls has been running the table this whole summer, with their only notable loss being against a noticeably deeper KS Bluejays squad while Tri-State only suited up 6 girls and one sustained an injury during the contest. Even still, while missing their Bigs, Tri-State came back from being down 15 points in the 2nd half to taking the lead against them with just seconds left in the game, and only lost by 1-point via some clutch FT's, 66-65. Tri-State did an amazing job of battling back despite being down some key players who could've put this contest handily in Tri-State's favor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So far, they are still on one of the hottest streaks that I've seen in 14U this summer, and their biggest test comes up next weekend at the MAYB Nationals. Her big-game clutch performance against the KS Bluejays showed that she can potentially take over a game as a scorer against elite competition as well. Her shooting in that game was remarkable! You give her space, she can pluck a three. Crowd her, she can get to the cup.
