Oklahoma Expo 2029 Players to Watch This Season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Oklahoma Expo was a great event to see the Class of 2029. Many of these players will be asked to step up this season as starters or possible 6th man. Listed are 5 players that I have on my watch list to season. All 5 development over the summer has been amazing. The best way to describe her game is on the offensive end she shoots like a shooting guard, handles the ball like a small forward. Knock down shooter from the 3-point range but yet quick enough to attack the paint off the wing like a small forward. Nice finishes around the rim with either hand. Consistent movement off the ball scoring on back door cuts. Good moves in the paint that scored on smaller guards., Tough rebounder on both ends of the court. The ability to shoot off the read without needing a step kept defense honest and at times gave her the edge in attacking the rim. Good vision on the breaks and in half court offense making several on the point passes to players cutting backdoor. Nice for a shooting guard listed at 5'8 allowed to play very physically on defense as well. A shooting guard as a freshman looks to have added the downhill game to her bag. A guard that many may not have seen this summer as her commitment to add to her game was the focus this summer. That focus showed at the Expo. Scrappy player that has no issue getting on the floor for a loose ball. As previously mentioned she can knock down the 3-pointer with range a couple steps behind the 3-point line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard that can handle the ball in the open floor with a go button in getting to the rim. Adrianna is one of those players that gets paint touches on the drives making good things happen. Made good reads on the kick outs or finishing through the contact for an old fashion 3 point play. I would not suggest sitting back as I have seen Adrianna knock down the 3-pointer in other events.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A defensive player that is tough when defending the off the ball passing lanes resulting in steals for points off turnovers. A 2029 that I think many people may not know about due to the senior Bartlesville had last season. At times she played the point using a slow pocket dribble to freeze the defense then hit them with a quick crossover to turn the corner. A hard nose driver that took the contact and still finished the play. The shooting picked up throughout the day as in one game she got hot knocked down 3-4 from beyond the arch. The shot was quick and smooth. Impressive was the shooting ability over the ball screen. That made a difference later on as she made some nice passes to the roller off the pick and roll.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A tough player on defense that took on any assessment guarding the guards or post it did not matter, nothing was going to be easy for the offense. Layla is one of those players that brings so much to the court that she will make the most of her opportunity.
