Shomo is a player who clearly prides herself on her defensive impact. In the game watched on Saturday afternoon, she took her customary charge. She simply has an innate ability to be in the right place, at the right time, and a willingness to always take charges. Made havoc causing plays throughout. From pressuring on the ball, to chasing down a play in transition to save two points. The little things add up to a big impact even when not scoring. And this youngster is very likely to leave her defensive mark in every game she plays.

A freshman who still found her way onto the court on a senior-loaded team, showing she understands the daily commitment it takes to improve. She’s an outside shooter who moves well without the ball, whether it’s relocating for a knockdown three or attacking the rim.

Defensively, she has the lateral quickness and strength to guard positions 2 through 4 when needed. She embraces her role, even as a freshman on a highly talented, experienced team she is willing to make hustle plays like stepping in to take a charge.

A young player who is patiently waiting her turn while consistently finding ways to contribute and make it hard for the coach to keep her off the floor.r

Any player that takes pride in taking charges like Shomo does, will always standout to college coaches. Her mindset translates to the rest of her game, with tough on the ball defending against guards. Can battle with bigger players at the rim and help on the glass. Currently apart of the deepest team in Oklahoma. Competing every day with four of Oklahoma’s best senior guards will surely help her grow in practice. And it’s a guarantee that any court time she sees, she’ll be going 110%.

Small forward that plays like a big guard shooting guard. The outside shooting range made her a tough match up. An aggressive downhill driver that does not mind contact finishing to complete the old school And 1. Strength and past defensive experience shows in the post as she was able to guard a larger post player. In transition offense kept great spacing and angle to finish the pass up the floor for the layup.

Tough defender that is very physical and gives up little ground off the dribble. Great positioning under the basket in rebounding creating the space needed to get the board. The incoming freshman will be a great addition to the Lady Panthers, adding some young depth to the lineup.

One tough guard that kept driving to the rim and would win the foul magnet award if there was such a thing. Playing though the contact and several no calls never complaining just kept rolling with a grin on her face. The type of player that can get to the line when you team just needs that point to stop a run from the other team.
