It's mid-October, which means the Fall rankings updates throughout the site are winding down. Last week we released the updated list of 2029 prospects, but I would like to turn my attention to the power forwards in this article. Below is a list of those prospects with "power forward" listed as their primary position, followed by some attention for the newcomers, and a look at a couple of ladies who are on the rise.

Delanie is an active and athletic front-liner who could carve out a big role this season for Guerin Catholic. She possesses length, she can get out and run the floor well, plus she has a little bounce to her. As a Freshman, Delanie averaged 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest (in 23 contests played). Guerin has a strong backcourt but not much size, so this season, Delanie could be a 10-point, 10-rebound contributor without much more than an increase in minutes. I would look to her to become a breakout candidate as a Sophomore.

Zionsville has a nice mixture of experienced 2027s on their roster combined with some exciting younger prospects. Kennedy is someone who might get the nod this season because of her height, length, fluid athleticism, and her face-up skillset. The Eagles seem to like skilled forwards/posts who can face the basket in the mid-post (and occasionally stretch their game to 3-point range), and Kennedy can at least do the former while still working on making the latter a bigger part of her game. In the meantime, she is still growing and getting stronger.

Hayden is a very intriguing youngster who has a lot of physical talent. She is extremely long, wiry, very fast North/South, and somewhat bouncy. She gets out and beats her matchup down the floor in transition, plus she has a quick first step off the bounce, whether from the perimeter or the mid-post. Because of her talent, she could become a very good, versatile defender who can create matchup problems. She is a pursuing rebounder as well. Offensively, she's best in the mid-post, but if she can develop a perimeter game, watch out!

Washington is one of those programs who always seems to reload. They are going through a little bit of a transition period, having graduated some key starters, but they also have talented youngsters to add to the mix, like Maleigh. She has height, length, and a wiry-strong frame that looks like she can build herself up to be very strong inside. She plays hard, outworks her matchup each time out, plus she's a nice lane protector and shot-blocker. As she continues to earn opportunities, I think she'll adjust and be a more effective scorer.

Union County has a scary-good group of 2029s, especially at the Class 2A level. We've talked about point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1810644' first='Brooklyn' last='Beck'] in the past, but Kaybree is their 6-foot presence who can play all over the floor. She, too, has a long, wiry-strong frame, she's athletic, active, and versatile. She can battle inside, rebound, and defend. She also steps out to defend bigger wings, but offensively, she can drive it or knock down the 15-footer, and she's working on making her 3-point shot more consistent. She could be a double-double machine this Winter.

Avery quickly became one of my favorite prospects to watch in this 2029 class after seeing her a few times this Summer. She is an athletically built forward who plays with some deception. She's much quicker and more explosive than she might appear at first, plus she has a tremendous skillset. She can initiate the offense and attack the basket like a point forward, plus she has a nice 15-foot pull-up jumper. Additionally, she has range to the 3-point line. Defensively, she can defend the perimeter, battle inside, and she's a great rebounder.
